Second Floor Common Room - Thursday Morning (Before Classes)

The giant pillow/blanket/chair fort of awesome was still up from last night. Thankfully, someone had turned the TV off so Rescued by the Alarm wasn't on anymore. Kawalsky had fallen asleep during that really bad murder mystery weekend episode where Zeke was in on it the whole time.

Worst episode ever.

He emerged from the fort and eyed the common room kitchenette. This situation called for pancakes. He got to it, being a pancake ninja and all.

"Pancakes! Get your pancakes."

[OOC: Free pancakes! Feel free to come in or say that you stayed there the whole night in the fort. I'll be here until I fall asleep.]

"Harsh, but I can grasp the concept," Mel laughed. "Who's your girlfriend?"

"Aeryn Sun," he said. "Know her?"

"Alien chick who dresses in black," Mel replied. "She dates? She seemed more like the type of person to break people into little bits."

"She dates me," John clarified. "We're going on about a year and a half. And she does the breaking people into bits too."

"She any good at it?" Mel asked curiously.

"Pretty damn good," he said. "I've never seen a woman with so many weapons and she knows how to use them."

"She, um... ever battle any vampires?" Mel asked thoughtfully.

"She has, actually," he said. "We had some vampire trouble a while back. She went out with the group to fight them."

"Huh," Mel said thoughtfully. "So there were vampires around here?"

Maybe the watchers sent her here too late.

"There were," he said. "I actually roomed with one for a semester."

Mel looked at John as though he was insane. "You what?!"

"He was a good vampire!"

"Yeah. Right," Mel said crossing her arms. "Until they have you for lunch."

"I lived with him for almost half a year and he never tried to bite me."

"Maybe he wasn't hungry."

"Maybe you didn't know him like I did."

"EW! You slept with a lurk?!"

"What?" John stared at her. "No. He was my roommate. He was one of my best friends. He protected me. He saved me. I owe him a lot."

"Okay. I've met a lot of vamps? Never had one do any of those things for a non-vampire," Mel said looking confused. "You sure he was a vampire? You're not pulling my leg are you?"

"He drank pig's blood," John said. "And I knew his vampire self too."

"Wait. He was a vampire and not a vampire? Who was this guy?"

"He is a vampire. He got a soul and is still a vampire but not one who went around biting people."

Something clicked from the reading Mel did back when she found the Watcher's council chamber. "Wait. That's seriously not a joke right?"

"It's not a joke," he said. "You can ask just about any senior here about Angel."

"Angel," Mel said echoing John for a moment. "Yeah. I read about him."
