Second Floor Common Room, Saturday, Late Morning

Leaving a very cranky Wyatt, Tannim came out to the Common Room, put on a pot of coffee and poured a bowl of cereal.

"Eric Weiss. My boyfriend." Rita might have even blushed there. "We've been together a while now. Although there's some confusion with this Parker person. Do you know her?"

"Yes, I know Parker. She's a good friend of mine. You look very much like her. How long have you and Eric been together?"

"Oh, a couple months. This Eric was pretty surprised when he woke up with me, instead of her." Rita curbed her irritation to something civilized, and said, "He thinks she might be where I was, and we switched places. He didn't say much about her. Is she studying to be a secretary too?"

And can she shoot a gun? That was the important part.

Zero thought for a moment about Parker as a secretary. Then she said weakly, "Excuse me for a moment." She quietly, calmly put the camera down on the coffee table. Then she sat down on the floor. Then she buried her head in her hands and began to laugh hysterically.

After a few minutes, she composed herself, wiped the tears from her face, and stood up, grabbing the camera again. "Ahem. Where were we?"

Rita smiled in bewilderment. "Um. You were telling me about Parker? Or not." She pushed up her glasses. "Is she from San Francisco? Did she ever date anyone called Socrates? I don't know. I'm just trying to figure this all out." She gave a aw-gosh shrug, and put on her best Totally Normal Girl look.

"No, Parker's from Delaware. An' I don't think her Greek cabana boy was named Socrates, though I could be wrong. I'm sorry, it was just...Parker as a secretary..." she dissolved into giggles again.

Rita watched this askance, then nodded. "Okay. So, not a secretary. And yay for her, not dating Socrates! She'll never get her heart broken like I did." She sighed, then cheered up. "But Eric is much nicer." She cocked her head, watching Zero. "Do you need help?"

"No, I'm fine, I'm sorry. I just...thought of something funny. Tell me more about where you're from."

"Well, I worked for the Westerfield Club for a while," Rita said cautiously, checking for giggles again. "Until I was unfortunately forced to leave their employ. Then I came her to Fandom not long after. Is your hair naturally that color?"

"No, s'peroxide an' blue dye. I'm a blonde, just, well, it's hard to strip the other stuff out, y'know?" Zero then asked, "The Westerfield club, what's that? Why did you have to leave?"

"It's a very interesting look!" And one Rita was going to remember the next time she was on the lam. "The club was interested in sponsoring law and order activities on the west coast. It was, um, blown up. And then I had to leave for a while. And Socrates dumped me, even though I'd been writing him for months. So I decided I needed a fresh start."

"That's terrible!" Zero said. "What about Socrates? Is he a Greek cabana boy?"

"He's a legal intern," Rita said sadly. "And after all we meant to each other, when I break-- I mean, when I made a special trip just to see him, he stood me up! Can you believe that?" She huffed, jaw setting a little. The resemblance to Parker was probably a bit more prounounced. "Well. He won't do that again in a hurry. Not that I care now."
