The Gym- Sunday Night

Edward Hyde was working on a punching bag, and destroying it in the process. Hey, it was the punching bag's fault that it wasn't made of sterner stuff.
Maybe someone else around here was. Hyde was eager to crush some superpowers.

[ooc: The Gym of course this didn't just say "The Salle" a minute ago. Your eyes must be playing tricks on you is open, and Edward's looking for a fight.]

Tyler stopped by the gym and was impressed to see the size and apparent power of the man using the punching bag. This could be interesting, he thought. Judging from Nefertiti yesterday, there were some good sparrers at this school.


"Nice work," he called, making his way over to a mat and gliding through a set of judo postures.

Edward was about to acknowledge Tyler, but he hit the punching bag too hard and lodged his fist into it. He growled, annoyed, and pulled out his hand. The sand began to pour out, and Edward stepped back, brushing it off of him.
Ugh. How undignified.

Tyler raised his eyebrows. "You mad about something, ort do you just always hit that hard?"

"I always hit this hard."
Truth be told, Hyde was a little frustrated that he couldn't seem to find Setsuna, but it wasn't that big of a problem. She did, of course say that her room was next door to his.

"Then you," Tyler said, "are a man with a gift, and I like that."

"You'd do well to." Edward grinned and gave a nod of introduction. "Edward Hyde."

"Tyler Durden," Tyler said, holding out his hand for a shake. "Looks like yoou killed the punching bag, Edward."

Edward manages to shake Tyler's hand without too much force. "It was being cheeky, anyway."
Maybe he'd been pretending it was Hawley Griffin. Just maybe.

Tyler laughed at that. "Do you like to hit people, or just things?" he asked.

His teeth were exposed in a shark's-mouth smile. "Depends on the person."

Tyler's smile was just as feral. "Suppose it was me?"

Edward nodded. "All right. But I'm not responsible for whatever happens to you."

"I don't get hurt easy," Tyler said, which was true. He let the other half handle the knocked out teeth and bruised ribs.

His fingers drummed, restless, against his chin. "Do you play by rules, or do you just go?"

"Fighting has rules?" Edward raised an eyebrow. "If you want to make some, I'll try to follow them, but no promises."

Tyler shrugged. "I always fight without shoes," he said, as a start. "You want me to leave them on, it's not my fault if you get kicked."

Granted, he was wearing sneakers, but the principle held.

Edward wasn't wearing any shoes. He didn't exactly have a big enough pair, at the moment.
"If you want to leave them on, I don't have a problem with it."

Tyler considered it, but stepped out of them anyhow. "Fair's fair," he decided.

He stretched his arms behind his back and walked to a corner of the mat. "Ready when you are."

Edward felt gallant. He stepped to the other side of the mat. "After you."

A beat to savor the impending fight, and Tyler charged with both fists aimed at Edward's chest, figuring the best way to beat the larger man was by catching him off-guard. "I thank you," he grunted out.

Hmmm. Tyler's fast. Faster than Edward, at least. Edward lets the hit connect, then pulls his arm back to smack Tyler away.

The smack connects, and Tyler spins across the mat, one arm out for balance as he rubs his sore jaw with the other.

He retaliates by going low, kicking at Edward's knees

Arrgh. If anywhere on Edward could be counted as a weak spot, it's his legs. Edward stumbled.

A flash of surprise slid across Tyler's brain -- the big guy was weaker than he looked.

He moved in for another kick, hard, leaving himself slightly off balance.

Edward was getting annoyed. He got his own balance back, got some momentum, and slammed a fist at Tyler's chest.

That hurt, that hurt, that knocked the wind out of him. Tyler staggered backwards, closing his eyes, and weakly held up his arms in a block. He would attempt a return blow in a moment.
