Dorm Roof, Monday Afternoon (Before 7th Period)

Okay, so the roof wasn't exactly the best place to go when you wanted to hide your face, but it was kind of The Spot for smoking, brooding, and emo as far as Anders was concerned, anyone else's declarations to the contrary completely disregarded.

He was, in the wake of his alternate persona's weekend activities, currently engaged in all three of the above.

Smoking? Well, yeah. He was flaily and trying to calm down in a very unhealthy way.

Brooding? Hey, he'd been a jerk to a lot of people, threatened to kill a few more, and oh-sweet-Lords-of-Kobol, let vampire Willow bite him. So, guilt, which led to brooding.

Emo? Look, he'd gotten to really like that black-orbing thing. He was gonna miss that.

"You... might be a giant hypocrite?" Pip suggested, lighting up. "So, who were you this weekend?"

"An agent of the Underworld. I was supposed to go around impregnating girls with evil demon spawn. I need a drink now," Anders said in a surprisingly calm tone. "You could probably make a documentary about us: I Know Who You Were This Weekend -- oh, frak me, Zero had a video camera."

"...Did you see the little brat with the cat's ears? I think I've seen him lurking around with a camera before. And do you really want a drink?"

". . . is there a reason I shouldn't have one? Did all this happen because somebody spiked the water?"

"Well, it's more that I'm offering to get you a beer."

"I could probably go for something stronger," Anders admitted. "Is it a bad sign when you're drinking to start the week, or does that depend on who you're asking?"

"Or who," Anders muttered under his breath.

Pip went down to his room and returned with a beer, which he tossed to Anders. "So... didn't succeed in your evil deeds?"

Anders took the beer gratefully, and didn't waste any time cracking it open.

"No, thank frak," he said, "because I'm too young to have kids."

"I think we all are. I hope. If we aren't, that's disturbing."

"The weekend was disturbing enough without thinking about that." Anders mentally backtracked a bit. "What was that about a brat with cat ears?"

"Have you not met Schrodinger?"

"Not that I remember. Should I have?"

"Maybe. He came last semester. Has cat ears instead of human ears. Something about him rubs me the wrong way."

"Cat ears aren't that creepy," objected Anders.

"It's not the cat ears. It's... I dunno. The feeling that he's staring at you and not seeing a person."

"Eh. Maybe I'm being paranoid. But he just..." Pip shuddered.

Anders nodded in agreement. "D'you think he turned into anything weird over the weekend?"

"Dunno. Was there any sort of... thing that all the changed people had in common?"

Anders shook his head. "Not that I can figure out."

"Weird No explanation either. Oh well. Better than the time everyone turned into kids."
