Dorm Roof, Monday Afternoon (Before 7th Period)

Okay, so the roof wasn't exactly the best place to go when you wanted to hide your face, but it was kind of The Spot for smoking, brooding, and emo as far as Anders was concerned, anyone else's declarations to the contrary completely disregarded.

He was, in the wake of his alternate persona's weekend activities, currently engaged in all three of the above.

Smoking? Well, yeah. He was flaily and trying to calm down in a very unhealthy way.

Brooding? Hey, he'd been a jerk to a lot of people, threatened to kill a few more, and oh-sweet-Lords-of-Kobol, let vampire Willow bite him. So, guilt, which led to brooding.

Emo? Look, he'd gotten to really like that black-orbing thing. He was gonna miss that.

Tori had wanted some fresh air and she decided that the roof would be good for that. It would nice to see people had changed back.

Spotting Anders, she hung back a little not wanting to startle him or interrupt him. He looked like he was lost in his thoughts.

Dick walked on to the roof, wearing way more winter clothing than was necessary. He hated cold weather. One look at Anders and he could tell that he wasn't the only one who had a rough weekend. He walked up beside him but avoided looking him in the eye.

"So who were you this weekend?" he asked, wondering if it could have been as bad as Robin.

Which he was, but they weren't exactly thoughts he wanted to be lost in. So when he turned around and saw Tori, he gave her a sheepish wave, grateful for the distraction but entirely embarrassed as well.

"Hey. I'm back to being me now, so, um . . . I'm not an evil manwhore any more."

Anders decided he might as well get it all out as quickly as possible. Maybe he'd get such an "OMGWTFBZUH" reaction out of Dick that he wouldn't have to get too much flak for it.

Hey, it was a thought, right?

He chuckled briefly. "I was an agent of the Underworld and my job was to spread evil by, uh --" Then his resolve started fading. "Seducing women and producing lots of demon babies."

Tori waved back, giving him a small smile in return.

"Hey. I'm glad to see you're okay." She paused. "You are okay, right?"

Dick couldn't help but laugh. "Man! I wish that's who I turned into. I was a superhero who wore a rubber suit. A rubber suit complete with rubber nipples."

"Were you any good at your job?" asked Dick "Cause I was a horrible superhero."

"Aside from feeling really stupid about what I did? I'm fine," Anders replied. "And really, really glad I didn't go through with a lot of the stuff I almost did, or wow, things would be fifty million times worse."

There was the stuff he did go through with, but he so wasn't talking about that.

"I almost was," Anders said. "I kept getting interrupted, though. Damn good thing, 'cause I'm way too young to be paying that much child support."

He flicked his cigarette ash idly over the edge of the roof. "I'd rather have been a horrible superhero. Well . . . I don't know. The rubber nipples might change my mind."

"Oh the nipples were horrible. They got mentioned on the radio." says Dick. "For the life of me I can't figure out what the benefits of those would be. Unless like...lasers shot out of them or something."

Anders snickered. "I don't listen to the radio much any more, but I'm almost sorry I missed that. Nipple lasers might be kind of useful, 'cause I mean, who'd expect that? On the other hand, they might kill your chances of getting laid ever again."

"Yeah, nipple lasers would be something that required a lot of training before you could use them." Dick agreed. "I just hope none of the people I tried to 'rescue' come after me. I almost started a fight with a teacher but thankfully Robin was too much of a do-gooder to actually do anything."

"Not the smoothest rescue attempts ever?" asked Anders. "Hell, if we could've picked I'd have traded you."

He paused, smirking just a little at the recollection of a couple of things he'd done over the weekend. "Well . . . okay, maybe not."

"Hey, I would have definitely traded! Hitting on people is something I have a lot of experience in." says Dick, smiling.

Somehow? Anders failed to be surprised by that statement. Sometimes people just have that vibe.

"Me, not so much." He scrunched up his face in thought. "It was . . . interesting. I'm just gonna try and chalk it up to a learning experience, and move on."

Tori nodded. "I can only imagine what it must feel like, knowing what happened over the weekend. But you weren't yourself, so it's not technically your fault." She smiled, hoping that made sense.

"Spoken like someone who's done this sort of thing before," Anders remarked. "It'd be easier to blow it off if I didn't remember everything so clearly."

Tori blushed ever so slightly. "Well, you could say I had a similar experience." She nodded, offering a small smile. "Yeah, I bet that's the crappy part, getting to remember everything. Even though, it was a completely different personality that acted out."

"Stuff I can't even believe I -- holy frak, I have some apologizing to do," Anders said. "And mental images I don't need and lords, I made out with my best friend!"

Tori winced slightly. "Yeah, it looks that way." She hadn't meant that to sound accusatory or anything. "Well, I'm sure in a couple of days, people will begin to forget." She hoped.

Anders caught the wince. "Sorry, it wasn't anything against you," he said awkwardly. "It's all just kind of surreal. I might have to go tackle that bottle of ambrosia in my closet if it doesn't start to get less surreal soon."

Plus he had this feeling Bel was going to kill him.

"Hi Anders. I hope you don't mind me smoking, because I'm going to anyway."

Anders snorted and held up his own cigarette. "Why would I mind?"

"You... might be a giant hypocrite?" Pip suggested, lighting up. "So, who were you this weekend?"

"An agent of the Underworld. I was supposed to go around impregnating girls with evil demon spawn. I need a drink now," Anders said in a surprisingly calm tone. "You could probably make a documentary about us: I Know Who You Were This Weekend -- oh, frak me, Zero had a video camera."

"Oh, I know." Tori smiled, no hard feelings to bear. "Well, if you need to vent some more or anything, I'm around." She offered.
