5th Floor Common Room - Monday, late afternoon

Annette was laying on the couch, on her belly, ankles crossed; a pillow shoved up under her arms. She was flipping through the television channels, not really paying attention to what was on. A minute here a minute there, nothing really snapping out at her. Her mind was too preoccupied thinking about who and what she met and talked to over the weekend. It was totally...mind consuming.

Frozen pizza was in the oven cooking. She knew she could do that. Just had to take the plastic off and stick it in the oven. She forgot to read how long it took to cook though. When she could smell it good, then she would know it was done. Hopefully. Annette wasn't too bright in the kitchen department.

"Old friend is back in town," Cally said. "So... good stuff, actually."

"Who's that?" She asked, mildly curious.

"Xander Harris," Cally said. "He graduated 'n May." She relaxed up against the couch.

Annette pushed her pillow up under her chest more, angling her elbow on the couch, her chin in her hand. "He back just for a visit?"

Cally shook her head. "Looks like he's here to stay, actually," she said. "Very, very 'ool."

"That's great, Cally," she said with a little grin. "You guys close?"

Cally nodded. "Kinda. 'e was my Homecoming date, last year."

"Cool. Hopefully I can meet him sometime or another." Annette replied. "What's he going to be doing while he's here?"

"I think he's workin' at the apartment building," Cally said. "He was behind the desk there, today."

She nodded, "I'll make a point of going over there sometime, introduce myself." Yeah, she was good at that sort of thing. She liked to call it being curious instead of nosey.

"He's kinda... older, now," Cally made sure to mention.

"Well, yeah, you said he graduated just last May? That's not too old."

"And 'en went home for six years," Cally said.

Blink. "Oh." She wasn't going to ask. "He is...older then."

Cally nodded. "How's stuff for you?"

"Stuff is okay, Cally. Just mellowing down after the weekend and if nothing happened this week, I'll be great."

She indicated Cally's jaw. "How's things mending?"

"So far so 'ood," Cally said. "Five more 'eeks."

"Crap! That lon--" She smiled a bit sheepishly. "Sorry."

"S'okay," Cally said. "If it heals fast, 'aybe only five."

"Well, at least the smoothies are good. Which reminds me -- I need to pick up so more fresh fruit tomorrow. Unless you are still good?"

"More'd be nice, 'anks," Cally said. "You really are too nice."

"I know. And innocent. And naive. And a huge pest to Billy..." She gave Cally a wry look. "Pity-me ramble there, sorry, and I will go to the market tomorrow and stock up."

Cally leaned over to give Annette a bit of a hug. "'anks."

Annette obliged Cally and rubbed her back with the bit of a hug. "You're welcome, Cally. I'm trying to win the best roommate award." She teased.
