Third floor common room [morning]

Luke was sitting on the sofa watching cartoons and eating sugary cereal from a box.

Artoo was beeping to himself and trying to see how fast he could do laps around the room.

Lazy Sunday mornings were the best.

"Owie," Evie winced. "I'm glad it's better, though. And the troll girls, well." She pursed her lips and scowled. "They liked all the boys too much. Especially the attractive ones. They wanted to keep them."

"They were very pretty. But they had cow's tails and weren't nice at all. So yes." Evie nodded firmly. "But were you doing in a swamp?" She watched Artoo racing around, and added, "Does he never get tired?"

"Ooooo. I think you told me about that. They're sort of, umm, knights, and protectors? Are you a full Jedi now?" Evie looked impressed.

"Splendid!" Evie bounced a little, and took a bite of toast. "Congratulations! Perhaps you would have given those troll girls what-for!" She made a slashing motion with her butter-knife, then looked abashed. "Ahem."

"They weren't much for negotiating," Evie said, rubbing her head. "They knocked me out and then I woke up in a cold room and they never fed me. And they were rude." And they harassed Jack. Evie still felt irate about that.

"Quite right," Evie said firmly. "So yes. I was very glad to be out of there by the end of the weekend." She sighed. "I just wish I hadn't been quite so-- different, last weekend."

"A what?" Then Evie remembered someone explaining the term to her last semester, and spluttered. "No! I was a princess! Why-- who-- oh good lord!"

"Yes, well, um. Okay, then." Evie blinked quite a bit, shaking her head. "I didn't meet anyone who became-- anyway. I met a beast? And a lion cub. And someone who was a demon, it turned out. But no, no, um, ladies of easy virtue." She gulped, then looked thoughtful. "I honestly don't know what Nefertiri would have thought of them. She was looking for naked serving boys."

"Oh, that was her name. It means beautiful-woman-is-here, I believe," Evie said absently. "And I'm very glad for you!" She blushed again. "I had rather a lot of apologizing to do on Monday."

Evie gave Luke a dry look. "Well, she didn't name herself. I believe it was the custom of the Egyptian royal family to give those kinds of names. Whether the girl-child deserved it or not." She cocked her head. "Oh, dear. Did she-- no, I do not want to know."

"Good for you!" Evie smiled approvingly at him, then earnestly asked, "You'd never steal a girl's pillow or her, um, unmentionables, would you?"

"Then you won't be revenged on later. Some boys have too much time on their hands," Evie said, scowling again.
