Front Lawn, Town and First Floor Lobby , Sunday Morning

Dawn's plan had been to go to J,GoB's in town and get some breakfasty things before Sam woke up, so she could yell at him for leaving her behind when he went to do dangerous demony things the night before on a full stomach. It was freezing, but it was just external cold and not the cold that had almost frozen her from the inside during the week, so she didn't mind so much.

That plan very quickly changed the first time she got hit in the head with a falling meatball. "What the--" She looked up as she watched the meatball roll away from her into the grass, and managed to avoid the second, and the third, but not the fourth or most of the ones after that.

So, she ran much more quickly into town and picked up some brownies, but mostly she invested in a bunch of sub rolls and some napkins. She stepped out of the bakery, brandishing the sub roll at the sky with vigor and a slightly maniacal gleam in her eyes. "Back! Back, if you don't want to be eaten!" Then she held another (open) roll over her head as she ran back to school.

Dawn dumped the bag of rolls on the floor of the lobby and headed out to catch herself some breakfast.

[ooc: Open to all. Feel free to catch your own meatball sub. If soda rain starts, feel free to say that cups are supplied as well.]

"Meatballs?" Irulan repeated, then dodged another one dropping by near her she approached the girl. "Is this a usual occurence too?"

Irulan dropped the meatball on a napkin and wiped her hand on another napkin she swiped. "I apologize for taking liberties with your paper napkins." She smiled at her, "I am the Princess Royal Irulan Corrino of House Corrino."

House Summers. Another royal house? This school must really be some sort of training ground for future monarchs. "And I, you." She looked at the bread Dawn was wielding, "How does one eat meatballs with bread?"

Irulan took the roll and followed Dawn's instructions then bit into it warily.

"The texture is strange," She said after chewing and swallowing, "but, tasty as you say. I am from the Imperial planet of Kaitain and yourself?"

"Kaitain is.." Irulan looked-up in the sky to point but almost ended up getting meatball in the eyes and looked away again, pointing vaguely upwards, "Five, four galaxies away and most probably, a thousand hundred years into the future."

Irulan nodded. "It was and it wasn't. It took me longer to acclimate with the strange going ons in this place than the idea of being in another time. My people and the people of this time are not that different." She paused. "It was harder for me to get used to people being physically close to me, back in Kaitain I had imperial bodyguards shadowing my every step, refusing anyone but my family withing three meters of me."

"Protection, security. Assassinations and poisons are the norm in the imperial court." Irulan said, matter a factly, like she was talking about the weather but didn't address the matter of feeling alone.

Irulan felt it was part of her personal growth that she didn't react to much surprise at Dawn's observation. At least now she didn't feel the need to go into her room and meditate for days.

"I've heard such creatures," Irulan said, "I think I've even read about them on my research on the Shadows. Before Fandom, I thought all these were fairytales."

"Thank you for the warning." Irulan said, adding it to her growing things to 'Beware of'. "And if you should find yourself in the area of my planet, or universe, I suppose I should warn you that you must not readily eat the food given to you, lest they be poisoned."

Irulan figured, it would only be best to dispense such warnings just in case.

"We only eat after testing our food with this," She took the poison snooper from her pocket and presented it to Dawn. "It is actually the first time in my life to ever eat without testing my food but I am learning."

Which would explain why Irulan's sandwich is being nibbled by itsy teeny tiny bites a mouse could make.

Irulan smiled. "I think it's best to adapt this planet's customs for a while. Although, I must confess, the very first time I did try it, I thought I would keel over and die on the spot." Her smile turned wry, "It was most gratifying when I discovered I did not do anything even remotely break into hives!"

"I hope you find yourself well?" Irulan said, looking concerned.
