5th Floor Common Room [Evening]

After stowing Jeremiah's tank and Xander's knapsack in 227, Bridge and Xander head off in search of spaghetti. Why didn't they just use the Synthetron? Well, spaghetti's like toast. It's more fun to make it yourself.

As luck would have it, the only Common Room kitchen currently stocked with any spaghetti noodles is the one on the fifth floor. So here they are. Making dinner.

Ares nodded so fast he was lucky his head didn't fly off or something. "Okay!"

Evie smiled, happy to have done something right in keeping mini-teachers entertained. "Would you like a story about oh, adventures and pirates? Or the Odyssey? Um. Or one with monsters and fluffy puppets?" She frowned. "How old are you, if you don't mind my asking?"

"One with pirates and monsters and Amazons!" Ares said excitedly. "Don't know."

"Oh, right, then. Monsters and pirates and Amazons it is." Evie nodded at the answer to his question. Then tried hard to think of a story to tell him. "Ooooo! Have you heard of the Royal Fiancee? It has swordfights and Cliffs of Insanity and screaming eels. I adore it."

"Yay fighting!"

"Right, then!"

Evie then launched into the full thing-- Man in Black, Fezzik, Inigo Montoya, Buttercup, Humperdinck, 'Have fun storming the castle' and all-- which took her about half an hour to tell with the use of pillows, jumping off the couch, and all the voices.

"...and then they rode away into the sunset on the white horses, and possibly lived happily ever after, at least until the international coast guard caught up with them."

She yawned. "The. End."

Ares clapped. "That was awesome!"

Evie blushed. "Well, I'm glad you liked it, Ares. It's one of my favorites. Especially the swordfights." She blinked a little, considering. "Are you going to be able to make it home all right? You *will* be safe, won't you?"

Okay, maybe he's a ... something, and a teacher, but he's only seven, maybe! And he doesn't even know how old he is!

"Well, that's okay, then." Evie's not all that reassured, but what can you do? "I do want you to come by tomorrow, though. Just to be sure. If you're not too busy being a god of war?"
