Fourth floor common room, Sunday morningish

Jude was exhausted. Weetinies were tiring.

But Jude was also hungry, and thus dragged himself down to the common room for the making of pancakes. Without sticks, in case there were more little children around.

. . . okay, maybe there were a couple with sticks.

"I mean, I like kids and everything, but . . ." He trailed off and shrugged. "So how was your Saturday? 'Cause mine - totally shot."

Setsuna shrugged. "It was fine. Full of ~~list handwavey activities that had occupied her here~~. Average Saturday, really...I'm sorry that you had such a bad day..."

"Eh, 'sokay." He beamed. "Friday totally already made up for it."

There was a pause, and then a small smile. "The date went well, then, I assume?"

His smile surpassed 'wide' and went to 'dorky'. "Yep."

Which was just all too adorable and earned Jude a hug. "That's awesome, Jude!"

Jude hugged her back with a chuckle. "Thanks, bra. I mean, it was totally awesome. We just, like, clicked."

"Clicking is good," Setsuna nodded, and then looked at him expectantly.

"Yeah." More dorky smiling.

The expectant look grew a little. "And? Is that all you're going to tell me, or do I have to wait for you to introduce me to her to know anything about her?"

"Oh!" Jude looked sheepish. "Uh, her name's Rikku, and she's from this other world kinda place with a whole bunch of things I've never heard of. She's into engineering and computers and stuff. And she talks a lot." He went pink. "And she's got really pretty eyes."

Setsuna smiled happily for him. "She sounds wonderful, Jude."

He chuckled, embarrassed and still pink. "She is. I mean, like, we only had one date but it was pretty amazing."

Setsuna couldn't help finding such a pink Jude absolutely adorable. "I assume there will be at least a second date, then?" She nudged him a little.

"Well, yeah. I mean, I haven't asked her yet. But I'm going to. Soon. I think she'll say yes? But I'm not totally sure." And now he was nervous.

"Why wouldn't she say yes?" Setsuna asked, in a tone that suggested this girl might have to answer to a certain exgirlfriend with a sword if she didn't.

Jude shrugged one shoulder up sheepishly. "Dunno?"

"If she knows what's good for her," Setsuna nodded, meaning it on multiple levels, "she'll say yes. So don't worry about it."

"Uh, bra? You do know that you can't threaten people into dating me, right?" he asked nervously.

"Hm?" Setsuna's head tilted. "Oh." And then she blushed, chuckling a little nervously. "Oh, no, of course not, don't be silly, I know that! I was just...saying...that...she'd be really, really stupid not to date you, that's all. An' I should know, and all, having done it and enjoyed it thoroughly." Her head bobbed in a nod. "An experience that any girl would be lucky to have had and...um..." Another, fiercer blush as she realized that what she was going to say could be taken one way other than how she meant it, "foolish to refuse."

He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh, thanks then, I guess. I hope Rikku's on the level with you there." But her rambling compliment was serving to make him blush a little again.

At which point Setsuna just decided it would be best to blushingly smile and nod. Complete bashful awkward moment with the exboyfriend? Check. The day was off to a good start.

And what better to banish awkward than . . .

"Pancake?"
