2nd floor common room - Friday evening

Miley was bored. Bored enough that she actually opened one of her school books to study.

That was enough to convince her that she was in serious need of some TV time. So she flopped onto the couch in the common room and started flipping channels.

"Oooh! Hollywood scandals!"

[Open like a common room]

Focus, Turtle, focus. You can follow this if you try hard...

"...But Paris had a CD, didn't she? So she kinda counts..."

"So, Lindsey's CD counts but not Paris? 'Cause I'd consider Lindsey more of an actress than a musician. And Paris?"

Turtle frowned a little with a moment of thought. "Paris is a good example of why most entrepeneurs should not have children..." If she had the kind of fortune the Hiltons did through their enterprise and her daughter acted like that? Nuh-uh, noooooo way.

Turtle shrugged a little; she didn't really know much about music.

"Same here...Maybe that's the problem, then? That they don't..."

Turtle's lower lip jutted out a bit, and she, too, had turned her focus back to the TV. "Mistakes happen..."

Turtle looked at her feet as her legs kicked idly a little, watching the white tips of her sneakers winking at her as she watched them. How'd they get on a topic like this, anyway? She shrugged. "Not that they'd ever admit it, but you can tell my mom's never really happy she had a second kid. Whole reason I'm here; she finally had to get rid of me. Daddy's cool, though. He's proud of me."

"Oh, he totally is," Turtle grinned a little, eagerly taking the shift toward something awesome to talk about and running with it. "He's a podiatrist. And a bookie, and just about one of the best dads ever."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-02-24 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Turtle chuckled a little. "Very carefully. He's...like a really mundane superhero. Foot doctor by day, super sekrit bookie by night." Her grin remained. "He's good at the bookie stuff, makes a lot of money from it, which is good because there really isn't that big of a need for podiatry in Westington..."

Shrugging slightly, she tilted her head toward Miley. "What're your parents like?"

"Y'know," Turtle leaned in a little. "I do take after my old man a bit, so if you are interested in anything like that...."

Turtle nodded, feeling that it wouldn't be necissary to continue further. And then gave Miley a slightly worried look. "Oh my God, Daddy used to sing that all the time..." She looked none too pleased by that thought. Especially since she'd seen some old pictures. Where Jake did, indeed, have a mullet...

"...Really?" Turtle's eyes were a little wide for a moment. "Would you...totally hate me if I asked you to get an autograph? My dad would go nuts..."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-02-24 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Turtle smirked. "Very, very cool. His name's Jake, by the way. Jake Wexler. And he'll just die. And start playing the song all over again." The smirk turned wicked. "I'm sure my mother would love that."

"Yay pizza!"

Which, really, was all that needed to be said.
