Second floor common room, Thursday afternoon

This was not the sort of chaos that Steerpike had been expecting the rain to bring.

She was currently sulking in the common room, since curiosity to see what havok this odd change would wreak had over come any desire for solitude.

At least, she thought, she had turned into a pretty girl.

Shawn shrugged. "Things could be worse, I suppose," he said grudgingly. "Just... weird." He looked at Steerpike again. "Who're you when you have a Y chromosome?"

"The same person I am right now. Steerpike."

Shawn nodded. That made sense, really. "Well, hi," he said. "I'm Shawn." He paused for a moment. "Introducing myself as that when I have this body, feels really odd."

"You could always try assuming another name,"

"I was thinking about it," Shawn said thoughtfully. "Any suggestions?" He bent slightly to look at himself again in the reflective side of the toaster. "What girl name would suit me, you think?"

Steerpike was . . . not terribly imaginative, name wise heck, in canon he names his monkey "Satan". "Shauna?"

Shawn glanced over his shoulder at Steerpike. "I was thinking of something that doesn't scream, 'I was a man yesterday'," he said. "But your suggestion will totally be taken into consideration."

"I thought it would be easier to identify with a name that's similar to that you've been answering to for the majority of your life."

That made sense in a way. Shawn shrugged. "Yeah, but it's the kind of name a parent gives that says 'obviously we expected a boy, lets add a vowel and hope no one notices'."
