Dick was sprawled out on the couch, taking up as much space as possible. The TV was on and he was watching Enchanted re-runs. Not a show he usually watched but there was nothing else on and those witches were friggen hot.

"What are you going to do for your birthday at home?" he asked. "Oh man, not one of those birthday parties where your grandma tries to do the Macarena?"

"Thank God, no," Turtle said. "My grandma doesn't actually keep in touch with the family very much." Her face twisted just slightly there in a frown, but she moved on. "It's just immediate family. Have a nice meal together, do the gift thing. Nothing much, but it's kind of a tradition."

"That's cool. My birthday's on the 1st. I'm not sure if I'm going home or not." he said. "It'd be cool to stay here and do something different. Maybe get my brother to come visit or something."

"Happy Early Birthday!" Turtle returned, and chuckled a little. "Little brother, or older brother?"

"Good thing you gave the early birthday. Usually people don't believe me when I tell them it's my birthday on my birthday. April Fools and all." said Dick, grinning. "Little brother. Hey, you've got something in common with him! His nickname is Beaver."

Turtle didn't even think about the fact that it was April First. Huh. That would be such a cool birthday to have! Actually, no it wouldn't, because everyone would get you joke presents. Lame. Poor Dick.

"A beaver is a mammel and turtle is a reptile," she pointed out. "Completely different." There was a pause. "His real name isn't Beaver, is it? Because ouch. Your parents didn't think Dick was bad enough, had to dig deeper, did they?"

"Well you have the animal nicknames in common." Dick laughed. "No, his real name is Cassidy. I thought up of Beaver. It distracts from my own name when people meet us."

Turtle's eyes narrowed at him slightly. "I swear, it's a plague or something of older siblings giving their younger ones animal nicknames. My big sis started the whole Turtle thing..."

"It's our job!" said Dick. "And in return you get to annoy the crap out of us, especially when us older siblings are on the phone."

Turtle considered this arrangement. "I guess you're right there. An' I am pretty good at that part..."

"What annoying tactic do you like to use? Constant talking annoying or maybe the borrowing without asking annoying?" he asked, smiling.

Turtle thought about it for a moment. "I think I'm definately more of the borrowing without asking type of annoying. But I end up annoying my mother more than I ever do Angela. She's got the patient of a saint." A scheming grin slipped onto her face. "Then again, she's gotta, with a little sis like me."

"Consider yourself lucky. Oh the things I've done to my brother when he annoyed me." says Dick, shaking his head. "I've locked him out of the house more than a few times. In the rain."

Turtle laughed. "Nice. I tried to do that to Angela once, but it didn't work as well as I planned..."
