"Naw. You were here first. And just because I want to touch it is no reason to drive you away," he said. He turns to look at her. "You do not look happy. WHo do I have to beat up?"

"Oh. Well, that's no fun. Unless you can do that Chi stuff like Setsuna. I'm trying. Been training every day."

He pokes her in the arm. "What's wrong? Seriously?"

"Told you. Candy. Alcohol. Setsuna."

"What'd you do, whack her with a sword? Not that I blame you."

"Oh. Well, what'd you do?"

"Candy. Alcohol. Drunk. Kissed Setsuna." Ami stared a bit dreamily down at the ground.

John had several responses.

One being: "Oh, you too? She's a spitfire, but... not really my type."

Another being: "...I'll be in my bunk."

Yet another: "Dude. Billy? He know?"

Hey, there's a fourth: "You? SHe? But... gay?"

In fact, he's too busy trying to come up with something to say that wasn't gonna get him smacked that he didn't actually say anything at all. For a moment.

"Kinda bad? Um. You kissed her because you wanted to kiss her, or kissed her because she was drunk and stuff?" John seriouses.

"Well, then, that's not so bad. What about Billy?"

"That would be the bad."

"Aaaaah. I can see how that'd be the bad. Do you regret it? Was it g--was it what you expected?"

"No i do not. And i did nto expect anything. It was an experiment."

John understood. Who hadn't experimented?

"And what were the results of the experiment?"

"Not sure. Haven't decided yet..."

"So you're bummed because you're not sure what's gonna happen or you're bummed because you regret it happening?"

"I am bummed because i am not sure, because i am afraid i lost a friend because i am afraid i lost a boyfriend and i am afraid of what might happen."

"Well, you still have me. Which is little help, as I'm neither a cute Asian girl nor a one-eyed ninja, and thus undesirable to kiss by anyone," he said lightly. "I don't think you've lost either of them."

"You don't think... sigh" yes she actually said sigh.

"Eyebrow raise? Yes, I think you still have me as a friend. Setsuna? Probably. Billy? Probably. I can talk to 'em, if ya need to." Talk was probably an euphamism for 'beat over the head' but it's the thougth that counts.
