fandomhighdorms | Totally Not Prom! Campgrounds, Saturday Afternoon to Night

Buffy got to the campgrounds early, hauling two huge bags with her. She put them down by the stones of the central camp fire. She looked at it. Firewood. She needed lots of it. She headed off to gather fallen branches and similar.

Slowly everything got set up. There were camping tables with plates, cups and sticks for grilling things with. There were tables with hot dogs, peeps and other grillable things, and a separate table for drinks (so far non-alcoholic).

She set her cd-player on a flat rock, and while it looked tiny and insignificant outdoors, it would at least have music. Hopefully the random showers would stop by night fall, she thought and covered everything with plastic.

Then she walked back to the school and grabbed every umbrella and blanket she could get her hands on, and walked back, dumping everything by one of the tables. With her hands on her hips she regarded everything in satisfaction. Yes. Totally Not Prom was on!

"Annika suggest I not get caught with booze when I go back, and if I get stuck for a year or more like you and Xander did, I'll feel better knowing you got it."

". . . So you are going. You're leaving, too."

"I told you I was going to court with Miss Prissylissy."

"Yeah." That's right, she had. "Just after Walter told me . . . I guess I forgot. Sorry."

Pippi shook her head.

"It's been that kinda week." she said. "It's okay."

"It really has." Nadia hefted the flask in her hand. "Thank you. For this. I'll give it back when you get back. And you will be coming back."

"It's the idea." Pippi nodded. "I plan to be back Monday. If something interrupts that, I'll email or call... The Doctor fixed my minicomp, so it shouldn't be a problem."

"Okay. Good. Because . . ." Nadia took another long sip from the flask as her eyes started to tear up. "I don't want everyone leaving."

"Not everybody is leaving." Pippi said. "Chad's not going anywhere, Al's not going anywhere, Jamie isn't going anywhere, just to name a few."

Nadia shook her head. "But you're . . . for all that we argue, you're my best friend here, Pippi."

Which could very well be as close to 'I love you' as Pippi would ever hear from Nadia.

Pippi pounced on the other girl for a hug that might make it hard to breathe if caught up in it.

"I don't want to loose you guys either." she squeaked out.

Nadia let out a slight gasping noise in response, but hugged back as hard as she could, anyway.

Pippi doesn't show signs of letting go any time soon.

Another gasping noise, which might have been Nadia kind of asking for some air.

"...Sorry."

". . . it's okay," Nadia said after a moment.

"S'more?"

"Yeah. That'd be good."

"... You think Pip will be mad for very long if I Shanghi him?"

"Depends on what you want to do with him when you're done?"

"..."

"It's always worth a try."

"Okay, two votes for. None against."

"Majority rules. I can't even say no 'cause I'd miss him. I hear he's leaving, too."

Pippi nodded.

"Yeah."
