Lobby: Thursday, All Day (Except Fifth Period): Cookie Table

Okay, so: she'd made several dozen cookies last night, and she had actually followed the recipes for once instead of just making things up as she went along. So they weren't, say, Surprise Cookies, but they should be edible, which ... surprise cookies sometimes weren't.

Rikku got a table and set out the cookies - some chocolate chip, some of the peanut butter kind with the fork-marks on top, and some oatmeal raisin - and pulled up a chair. And behind her, she hung the sign she had made.












See, this is why she put the note in the paper. Because she wasn't so great at signs.

She sat down and waited for people to come by. And take some cookies.

Peter noticed the cookies and the note. He took his time reading it, then asked, "New form of therapy?"

"Hi!" Rikku waved. "Nah, just ... guilt? And missing the kids. And, uh, the rest of it." She gestured vaguely to the sign. "Man, that'd be a fun kind of therapy, though. You'd have cookies all the time."

Spotting Peter when she entered the lobby, Tori smiled and waved. She hadn't seen him in a while.

Annette took a cookie, an oatmeal raisin cause she was thinking healthy today. Yeah.

"So, that's a big long sign." She said to Rikku - the whole ripped a hole in reality was really lost on her.

She tentatively took a bite and figured it was pretty good. She took a bigger bite and nodded.

"Hi, Annette!" Rikku nodded. "That's why I wanted to put the thing in the paper? If you saw it? 'Cause otherwise this would be even longer. And putting up a lot of these signs would have been a total pain."

She looked back at it again. "I think I'm not very good at signs."

Cassie headtilted at the really long sign. "Hole in reality? Really?"

"Yeah," Rikku blushed. "Stuck a pillow over it so my roommate's cat wouldn't fall in. Not a good thing. Cookie?"

Sokka took some cookies!

And then read the sign.

"So... wait. YOU'RE the reason I got stuck in the stairs???!?!?!"

"You were stuck in the stairs?" Rikku looked down. "I didn't know, I'm sorry. Uh, cookies?"

Tori spotted the sign and made her way over to the table. "Hey Rikku." She smiled.

"Oh! Hi, Tori! I, uh," she flailed vaguely in the direction of the sign, "screwed up and I'm sorry and, uh, cookies?"

Isabel stopped and eyed the cookies suspiciously. "These aren't going to turn me into something small and furry, or make me sing or otherwise embarrass myself are they?"

Rikku looked at her curiously. "I don't think so? I followed the recipes, didn't add anything weird in. They should just be cookies."

Hermione races down to the lobby, still holding her letter from the Ministry. "They're letting me back!" she says, way too excitedly for someone who's just been told she's going to have exams for two weeks straight.

Rikku bounced up excitedly. "They are? For the exams?! Oh, Hermione, that's great!"

And (unless she ducked it) Hermione was getting a bouncy hug.

Shawn, kinda drawn to places where free food is offered. Especially when he's still kinda emo-ing over having to send his daughter home.

He wandered up to Rikku, reading over the sign. "You made a hole in reality?" he asked, arching an eyebrow. "Impressive."

Rikku nodded. "Accidental. Messing with the natural order, dark-mojo-stuff. Ripped a hole instead. Won't do it again. Cookie?"

"I don't know if the really big giant head was a result of that, but if it was, then no harm done. And if not, thanks for the cookies anyway."

Rikku considered for a moment. "Wow, giant head? That sounds freaky. I have ... no idea, but probably. Sorry. You're welcome to the cookies either way."

John wandered by, and saw the sign. And stared. And grabbed a cookie.

"Bad week," Rikku noted. "Sorry about that. Cookie?"

A still-kinda-mopey Bridge is on his way to open the Library for the day when he passes through the lobby and sees the sign. "Oh, hey. Cookies? Can I?"

"Yes, please!" She pointed. "Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter." And pointed at herself. "Very sorry and won't do it again."

On his way through the lobby, Sam couldn't help but read the note, and he took a cookie, giving Rikku a sympathetic look. "Am I allowed to be kind of impressed that you made a hole in reality? That's some pretty powerful damage there."

Rikku smiled wryly. "Honestly? I'm a little impressed myself. I just didn't want to admit it. That's more that I have some good explosives, though."

Valentine wasn't angry. Valentine had never been angry. And Valentine wasn't even feeling upset over the loss of a child.

But Valentine was always willing to accept a free cookie.
