"So, we have them in brownie form," Cally said with a nod. "Well, we will soon."

"Assuming I'm doing this right,"

"We can hope?" Cally said.

"Well, we'll find out in . . . about half an hour. We just need to pour the batter and get it cooking."

"Keep me from getting bored and checking the oven every five minutes."

Cally went to try and pants Nadia while she was least suspecting.

Nadia was wearing a belt.

Pantsing would be rather more difficult than that.

Specially when she's also holding a wooden spoon to thwap the unwary pantser with.

"Ow!" Cally said, as she was thwapped. "That's not nice!"

"Neither is trying to pants me."

"It was going to distract you," Cally said. "You asked for that."

"Thwarting you with a spoon distracted me. Full marks, then."

"Win!" Cally said, raising her arms in victory.

"Good job! Only twenty eight more minutes to go."

"I could... pants Walter?" Cally offered.

"Mm, no, that's my job."

"We could... set fire to him?" Cally offered.

That got more brandishing of the wooden spoon. "Absolutely not!"

"We could demand he dress in a tutu?" Cally said.

Nadia burst into giggles.

"And then he can sing a song?" Cally said.

"Oh dios," Nadia giggled harder at the mental image. "No, he's got a terrible singing voice. . . ."

"Which makes it even better," Cally said. "And he can do it all with a tea cozy on his head."
