First Floor Lobby: Sunday afternoon

Finals started tomorrow, so Jack was - surprisingly enough - studying.

He was doing it in a very Jack way, though. He'd claimed the biggest couch in the first floor lobby as his own and was currently sprawled across it, shirtless, sucking on a lollipop while he flipped through a textbook.

Propped up at each end of the couch was a sign which read--





"Worried about Finals?

Lick a Seahorse for Luck!

The table next to him held several empty coffee cups, with books and notes piled haphazardly next to them, and sitting underneath it - where it wouldn't be immediately apparent to anyone walking past - was a large box, filled with lollipops that he would happily share.

Jaye had been coming back from a couple errands,but she's got to stop at the table. "Seriously?" she grins.

"Seriously." Jack grinned as he looked up from his book. "How could licking a Seahorse not be lucky?"

"You have a point," she says, considering this. "Does this mean I'm naturally going to pass all my finals?"

Jack made a show of giving it some thought. "Welll, nothing's ever one hundred percent certain," he said slowly. "Maybe you want to get in some last minute licking for luck? Just to be on the safe side?"

"Hm. I did already get accepted into schools so I doubt a test or two is going to make a big difference..."

Jack sat up and pulled a very sad face. "You don't want to lick a seahorse for luck? It'll be fun, I promise."

Mac was making her way back from brunch in town, and seeing a sign like that? She couldn't very well not stop, could she?

"Licking seahorses?" Mac asked skeptically. "Well, there's one I've never heard before."

"Really?" Jack sat up straight, smiling innocently. "It's a fine old Fandom tradition, corollary to Shirtless Day. That's at the beginning of the term, Seahorse licking at the end. It's very lucky."

"Uh-huh," Mac nodded. "This place has some really bizarre superstitions," she said.

Cedric wandered up and laughed at the sign. "Is this innuendo or are you actually wanting people to lick aquatic animals?"

"This place is really bizarre, full stop," Jack laughed. He leaned over and scooped a seahorse lollipop out of the box. "Here you go," he said, offering it to her with a grin. "Lick a Seahorse!"

"How about I pretend to lick a seahorse and pass it on to someone else?" she asked grinning as she examined it. "The vegan thing, kinda messes with any desires I might have to lick one."

"A little of both, with a side order of not quite," he laughed, sitting up to grin at Cedric. "Lick a Seahorse today, be lucky in your Finals tomorrow, although," his grin got wider, "on that scale, you've probably got all the luck you need."

Lana wandered past on her way out and smiled at him. "Is the Seahorse licking referring to the lollipops or are they supposed to be the treats for after?"

"Hmmm. I didn't think of that." Jack considered the quandary for a minute or two. "I think vicarious licking could be equally as lucky, as long as you're present while said licking occurs. Sometimes," he smirked, just a little, "just watching can be fun."

He blushed and managed to laugh at the same time. "And on that note, you probably have enough luck to last you several decades."

"It can refer to whatever your little heart desires," Jack replied from his comfortable sprawl on the couch, smirking at her. "Help yourself to either."

Billy noted the scene. "Uh....huh." he said skeptically.

"Centuries, even," he teased. "Licking Seahorses, at least certain of them, might just be one of my favourite things." He flashed Cedric another grin, then reached into the box, sorting through the lollipops until he had one of every flavour. "For you, Seahorses to lick for luck!"

"Oh, I think one of those might be asking for big trouble," Lana said with a bit of a blush.

"It's Fandom." Jack grinned. "Licking Seahorses for luck isn't even close to the most bizarre thing that this place has offered."

"Okay, then I find someone else to lick my seahorse," Mac said. She smiled at Jack. "Thanks for the potentially lucky lollipop."

"My pleasure, Mac," he replied, giving her a little bow, and smiled. "Enjoy, and may it bring you and your chosen lickee good fortune."

"Oh, you're too kind," he said, taking the lollipops. "How can I ever thank you?"
