First Floor Lobby: Early Evening

There are important things for slayers to do. Mel knows this. And the most important thing is to patrol at night for monsters.

So Mel has gone to the weapons locker where she has retrieved her foam rubber scythe (with a squeaker in the blade) and her nerf stakes and is now currently patrolling the lobby for the monsters that live under furniture and in closets.

"Feel my wrath evil dust bunny!"

*SQUEAK* *SQUEAK* *SQUEAK*

Xander and Bridge were just returning from... well, returning someone, namely Dawn, to the dorms, and having seen her start up the stairs, now Xander was heading out of the lobby. With an armful of five year old, as you do.

He stopped to blink at the little girl with the foam axe scythe, though. "Mel?"

"Xander! Hi!" Mel said waving her rubber scythe axe. "I'm patrolling! Because I'm the slayer!"

"Hi Mel!" Bridge waves from Xander's arms.

"Do I know you?" Mel asked suspiciously. "Are you a monster?"

"Not a monster, I PROMISE!" Bridge pouts a little at that. "I'm BRIDGE."

"Hi Bridge!" Mel waved. "Want to patrol with me?"

An adamantly not tired Billy shuffled in from a long day of Tention, the Park, and the Beach. But the sight before him distracted from how completely not tired he was.

"Are you a monster?" Mel said brandishing a nerf stake.

"Nuh uh." Billy said. "I'ma ninja. Your hairses neat colors."

"You're not a ninja! Ninja's have num-chuks! You're a demon!" Mel said throwing a nerf stake at Billy.

Billy caught the stake. He might be only five, and he might trip over his own feet a lot, but apparently there were still some things he could do. He pulled on his ninja mask.

"Am so a ninja! Not all of us have num-chucks!"

Nadia leaned over to look at Mel. "Are you a vampire?"

"NO WAY JOSE!" Mel shouted. "I'm a vampire slayer! I kill vampires!"

"Ohhhhhhhhhh. Do you know where any are? 'Cause I'm tryin' to spy on 'em."

"I haven't seen any," Mel pouted. "They're probably scared of me. So I'm hunting monsters that live under furniture and closets."

"Ohhhhhhhh. Can I help?"

Aeryn's not wanting to go up to the room yet, because John might pull her hair more or tell her she's short even if she's much taller. She wanders around, stopping when she sees Mel. "What are you doing?" she asks.

"We're patrolling!" Mel said waving her rubber axe at Aeryn. "There are monsters afoot!"

"Do they need to be killed? I can do that." No, she can't. Not for a couple years.

"They do!" Mel said seriously. "Right now they're in their sleepy state."

She pointed at a dust bunny underneath a couch.

"When night comes they turn into monsters!"

"Are they big monsters?" she asks, eyes widening.

"Hihi Aeryn," Bridge waves from waaaay up high. Also known as Xander's arms.

"Hi," says Aeryn. "Why are you up there?"

"Cause I can see stuffs," Bridge says. "It's a better vantage point."
