First Floor Lobby: Early Evening

There are important things for slayers to do. Mel knows this. And the most important thing is to patrol at night for monsters.

So Mel has gone to the weapons locker where she has retrieved her foam rubber scythe (with a squeaker in the blade) and her nerf stakes and is now currently patrolling the lobby for the monsters that live under furniture and in closets.

"Feel my wrath evil dust bunny!"

*SQUEAK* *SQUEAK* *SQUEAK*

[Open like a lobby should be]

"Hmm. What are we patrolling for?" Xander asks.

"Monsters that hide under furniture and the closets!" Mel proclaimed. "The disguise themselves during the day as dust bunnies."

"Those are bad," Xander told her. "They make your room look lots dirtier than it really is. It's a demon conspiracy." He let Bridge down. "You can patrol, but you gotta have backup. No going after dangerous stuff alone."

"I gots you," Bridge says, looking waaaaaaaaay up at Xander. "An' Mel's here too, so m'not alone."

"But I'm the slayer!" Mel protested. "One girl out of every generation to kick butt and kill demons and lurks everywhere!"

"Yeah, but even Slayers fall on their butts sometimes. That's what backup's for."

"I'm a Power Ranger!" Bridge says. Well, he's not actually one yet. "Kickin' monsterbutt is my job too! So we can be each other's backups," he tells Mel.

"Okay!" Mel said holding up a nerf stake. "Do you want a stake?"

"Yesplease!" Bridge beams at Mel.

Mel tossed the stake to Bridge. "C'mon! Let's find some monsters!"

Xander sometimes has brilliant ideas.

Sneaking off to hide behind the couch and pretend to be a monster... might not be one of them.

At least they're nerf stakes, right?

From behind the couch comes a whispery grrrrrr arrrrgh like an evil dustbunny might make.

"HiiiiiiiYAH!"

That'd be Bridge scrambling up the couch and then leaping off the back of it, brandishing his Nerf stake at Xander.

"RARRRRRRRRRR!" Xander growls at him and darts towards his feet.

And that'd be a totally not girly at all squeak of mock-terror as Bridge tries to dodge Xander.

"Grarr - curses!" That'd be Xander falling on his back and looking helpless as he pretends to miss Bridge.

"HAH!" Bridge says triumphantly, running up and thwacking Xander on the shoulder with the stake.

"Gurglegrlglaraaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhh!"

Xander is a very loud dust-bunny.

With very long death-throes.

Bridge is starting to get a little concerned. "Xander?" he asks carefully.

"Glaaaaaargh..." Xander looks up. "Yes? ...arrrrrghhhhh."

"...jus' checkin'," Bridge says shyly. "Wanted t'make sure you weren't really hurts."

"Thanks. That's very nice of you." Xander sits up. "Though you should probably not do that for real monsters."

"I know!" Bridge insists, the tail-end of the "know" leading off into a yawn.

Xander gets to his feet and looks down at Bridge. "Gettin' sleepy?"

"...Maybe?" Bridge admits. He really, really was.

Xander bends down to pick him up. "Bout time for bed then, huh." Not at all regretful about that as he glances towards the stairs.
