Alec and Dean had decided that there was no better idea than getting a lot of ice cream, a lot of random toppings, and then making sundaes. They even waited until after lunch (cereal) and made sure to have healthy things too (fruit syrup! jam! graham cracker bits!).

There was, of course, a lot of everything, just in case people wanted to come by and have some of their own. Alec was suicidal nice like that.

Zero nodded agreement and told Parker solemnly, "'ve got magic boots," as she stuck out one tiny, steel-toe-booted foot for inspection.

"You do," Parker said, taking her hand automatically as they headed over to Alec and the ice cream and fixings. "You even have that cool song you wrote about them."

"La la la," Zero sang, "yeah yeah yeah we're kicking trolls...with ice cream we're kicking trolls..."

"Kicking trolls, in their knee-caps," Parker sang along. What? Totally appropriate song. It's Zero.

They reached the counter, and Parker looked around at the offerings. "Hmmm. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, green with minty bits... which one do you want?" She grinned, and said aloud, "Green and chocolate?"

"Yes, please," Zero said politely, because Ratty and Arsenal had taught her to always be polite when attempting to procure large amounts of sugar. "No vanilla. Vanilla's borrrrrring."

"It's good if you want to mix other stuff with it, like cinnamon bits or chocolate or caramel or sprinkles," Parker said. "All at once." She scooped up chocolate and green-with-mint-bits for Zero, put whipped cream on top, then scooped up a small helping of strawberry for herself. She handed Zero a spoon, then solemnly toasted her with it. "To chocolate syrup."

Zero clicked her spoon against Parker's and agreed, "To chocolate syrup."
