Platypus campfire, very late Monday night
Coming back from Caritas, Annette's cell rang before she could make it to the cabin. Sighing at seeing who it was, she wandered over to the campfire and sat down in a lounge chair. Slipping off her sandals, she drew her knees to her chest and pressed her bare heels against the edge of the seat.
"Hi mom."
"Why haven't you called lately?"
Annette was still feeling the effects of her drinks at Caritas and was not in the mood to be drilled.
"What? I called yesterday."
"..."
She rubbed her temple.
"Annette, are you lying to me? I was home all day yesterday, young lady."
"Mom, that hurts."
"Hrmph. I think that school is teaching you bad manners." Annette listened as her mother clinked ice cubes into a glass.
"Mom are you drunk?"
Gasp! "Annette Hargrove, how dare you-"
Click.
"Annette? It's your father. Your mother does not drink, how could you even suggest it?"
"Guess what, dad? I'm living in a cabin with seven other people."
"The hell?"
"Yeah and it's co-ed and everything. And we have a campfire and I met a big talking turtle the other day."
"..."
Hee hee hee.
"Annette? Are you doing drugs?"
"Daddy how many times are you going to ask me that?"
"Until you tell me the truth."
"I am not a LIAR!"
"Don't you dare raise your-"
Click.
"Annette, sweetheart, calm down darling. Do you need to see a doctor? A special kind of doctor?" her mother asked.
"..."
"Really Annette under the circumstances-"
"I'm sleeping with my boyfriend."
"..."
Click.
"Annette? It's your father. What the in the sam hell did you say to your mother? She just dropped to the floor like a ten pound bag of potatoes."
"Daddy? I think you should check what she is putting in her drinks. K? Love you, bye!"
Sighing, she closed her cell and dropped it to the ground and just stared at the fire. "Man, what a day."

She smiled then remembered Tori had a date today with Luke. "Omigod, Tori, tell me how it went!"
(Heroes has too many commercials I swear!)

And that caused Tori to blush. "I was wondering when you were going to ask." She laughed. "It was great. I had a lot of fun. We just talked but it was really nice."
[That it does, but it was soooooo good!]

is wicked evil," she teased. "Are you going out again? Did he ask? Did he hold your hand? Or kiss you? And do you like him like him?" Yes, that would be Annette totally bugging Tori half to death.no subject
is TOTALLY wicked evil, which led to surfing and then workshops. Sadly we're not taking any together." Yeah, she was bummed about that, if Annette couldn't tell. She blushed, a little overwhelmed by all of Annette's questions. She really wasn't sure how to answer a couple of them
since the thread is still going. "I hope we go out again." Tori blushed brighter. "Yeah, I do like like him." She couldn't help but grin sheepishly at that.no subject
And her blushing! Omigod, just too cute! Tori is so pretty and the blushing just made Annette want to squeeze her. In a totally platonic way of course.
"YAY!"

Tori grinned brightly and blushed at Annette's delight. "I'm glad you approve." She laughed. At this moment, Tori was totally being a girly girl, but it was appropriate.

"Luke is a good guy, and you are super sweet." Wait. Wasn't Annette supposed to be like one of those protective sort of friends.
"He totally treated you good, right? Pay for your coffee and stuff?"
no subject
"He is." Tori nodded in agreement. Yes, yes she was. "Yes, he did. Not to worry." She grinned, glad to see Annette looking out for her.

Tori smiled brightly. "Thanks Annette." She really meant it and was glad her friend supported her.
