With his first two workshops moderately successful (the dog kicking question was a trick!) and the books still acting like chickens inside the cabin, Gavin's escaped to outside the cabin.

He's leaning against a log and counting stars. It's better than counting sand.

"Bakery," Peter said. "Then FedEx."

"Oh." It sounded like an efficient system. "They must fly fast to get here overnight."

"Pretty fast," Peter said. "Not that I now how fast offhand."

"How many bagels do you have them send you?"

"Enough for sharing," Peter said with a grin. "Don't worry. I've got some earmarked for my cabinmates."

"Great," Gavin said, grinning. "I don't have anything from Tatooine except my blaster pistol and I can't really give that away. We don't have FedEx either."

"Is your blaster pistol like a gun?" Peter asked.

"Yeah," Gavin said, lighting up. "It's in the weapons locker."

"Something tells me you're fond of it," Peter said, noticing Gavin's improved looking mood.

"Maybe it's the familiarity?" He wasn't really sure. "It was hard to put it in that locket especially in the wake of the school being in pieces."

"I could see that," Peter said. "If I had a weapon I'd probably be twitchy about not being able to keep an eye on it."

He nodded quickly. "I'm afraid someone's going to take who doesn't know how to use it and hurt themselves more than anything."

"Any way you can lock it specifically?" Peter asked. "I know some guns here can have a safety lock put on them."

"I might try that," he said, filing that thought away. "No weapon for you?"

Peter shook his head. "I'm not unfamiliar, but there hasn't been anything I feel like I need to carry all the time."

"Understandable," he said with a nod. "At least they just locked it up and didn't take it fully away."

"Well if you ever want to show it off..." Peter said, with a shrug that indicated he'd be interested in watching Gavin use it.

Good thing Gavin wasn't quite acquainted with the 'dirty' stuff just yet.

"There's a place to shoot around here, right?"

"There's a shooting range," Peter said. "Though I don't know if it survived the school being blown up."

"Hm." He looked in the general direction of the blown up school. "I'll have to find another place so I don't get rusty."

"Could ask Mr. Winchester," Peter suggested. "He's teaching a class on shooting, right?"

"When I find out who that is, I might ask," Gavin said. "Thanks for the tip!"
