With his first two workshops moderately successful (the dog kicking question was a trick!) and the books still acting like chickens inside the cabin, Gavin's escaped to outside the cabin.

He's leaning against a log and counting stars. It's better than counting sand.

"That's a good outlook," she said. "So no plans yet? What year are you, anyway?"

"I'm going to be a Junior now," Alphonse answered with a hint of amazement, as 'Wow, already?' crossed his mind. "Umm... well, admittedly, I haven't put a whole lot of thought into it. I've only got some vague ideas, right now."

"Vague is good. It still gives you freedom to figure out new things," Jaina said approvingly.

"That's a good point," Alphonse agreed. "Right now I'm just exploring ideas."

"What are you taking?" she wondered.

"Interdisciplinary Studies and that Fighter workshop," he answered. "I'm taking it a little easier during the summertime."

"I almost took the fighter one, but my schedule was too full," Jaina said. "I'm hoping they offer it in the second term."

"Maybe! Don't see why not. It seems like a good workshop to take."

"And it seems like a lot of people might be interested in taking it," she said. "I kind of like this place for that."

"Yeah, there's a lot of students who are into sparing and related things," Alphonse said. "All sorts of different styles, too."

"I think I'm looking forward to learning about some of them," Jaina smiled.

Alphonse nodded, then asked, "What are you taking, as well?"

"How to Blow Things Up, Flight and Flying, Mechanics, and Self-Confidence the Ares Way." She made a face. "I swear I didn't sign up for that."

Alphonse made a face. "... I've had issues about being put in the wrong class before, too."

"Really? What did you end up in?"

"Introductory to Magic," he replied. "Which was far from what I wanted to sign up for."

"Could you just not take it?" she wondered. She'd never been to these types of classes. She'd learn.

"Skipping classes isn't good," Alphonse insisted. "Even if I didn't want it, I don't want a bad grade, either."
