Donatello had a pencil, a notebook he usually reserved for sketching diagrams or writing down new project proposals, and enough boredom to be coming up with glitter-throwing test ideas. Not that he expected to use them himself (whether or not it worked on turtles as well as humans), but it was something to do while he didn't have a computer.

"Hey, man," Gavin said, taking an empty seat. "Keeping a journal?"

"Not so much a journal as just somewhere to keep all the randomthings I'm not sure I'll remember," Donnie said distractedly before taking a moment to think over what he'd said. "...Which does sound like a journal, doesn't it?"

He laughed and said, "It does. Does it help you to remember things?"

"I keep it mostly for ideas and plans, and write them out in enough detail that if I do forget, I won't come back to them later and wonder if I was insane at the time," he explained, grinning. "So, yeah, it definitely helps."

"Just don't lose the thing, right?" Gavin asked.

Karal, on his way back from caring for Trenor, sat down and smiled a greeting. "Good evening."

"Hey, Karal," Gavin said, smiling. "Good day?"

Donnie made an exaggerated expression of horror and clutched at his chest over his heart. "Man, don't even say that! All the measurements, the notations!"

"Gavin, hello. It was an odd day," he replied, still disturbed over Ares' claim of godhood. "Very odd. And yours?"

"Evening," Donnie replied cheerfully. "Are you recovered from yesterday?"

"I am," he said with a small laugh. "Thank you. It was a very strange way to begin the day, but I'm assured that it's not a night-time ritual of any kind, so it's unlikely to happen again. And you? All recovered?"

Gavin laughed, leaning back to look up towards the sky. "You write about anything specific or just everything?"

"Odd?" He shrugged at Karal's question. "I didn't have a workshop today. So, I've just been around here."

"Which I suspect I will be doing tomorrow, as I have none," he said, tapping his fingers against his knee. "Did you know one of the teachers here is quite convinced he is a god?"

"What kind of god?" Gavin asked, frowning.

"Mostly my projects - usually things that have to be fixed or tuned up - and ideas for things I want to do in the future," he said. "Right now I just really miss my computers."

"A god of war." Karal drew his knees up and rested his chin on them. "After that revelation, it was not a pleasant class."

"It was mostly just wondering what Mikey was getting himself into," Donnie said honestly. "But, um, yeah. I'm okay. It's hard to have a dim view on nudity when you practice it every day."

"You're a mechanic," Gavin guessed. "Or...technician?"

He frowned. "He would cause wars then?"

"If he were a god, yes, I believe so, but he is not a god." Karal was absolutely certain on that point. "He just thinks he is, or claims he is or something else but the conversation is still ongoing."

"Kind of both? I really like engineering too," Donnie said, warming up to his subject. "Whatever needs fixing or modifying, I'm your turtle for the job!"

"So it's all a matter of what you're used to," he said thoughtfully. "Which is a very good point and one I shall bear in mind." Karal smiled and nodded at the notebook. "Are you working on an assignment for class?"
