beside the main campfire, late saturday evening

It's late Saturday evening, and Roxas is kind of sitting there reading a book in the dim fading light.

Or, it looks like he's reading a book anyway. The book's open a little less than halfway, and his eyes are on the page.

But they're not really moving. He almost looks like he's asleep with his eyes open, except that he occasionally blinks.

Someone's distracted.

"I thought that irritating the locker that sucks people into alternate dimensions might not be wise," Mac said picking up a stick and poking at the slowly dying fire. "And, spitting is pretty disgusting, anyway."

"I just kinda left them there," Mac admitted. "In retrospect, I should've kept them. Could've come in useful for something."

"Mmm, aliens. They blew it up a couple of weeks back," Mac replied. She glanced over at him. "I wish I could tell you I was kidding."

"It's probably a good thing my parents don't know the half of what does down here," Mac said with a chuckle. "Would probably give my mom an aneurism."

"Some things are just best kept to yourself," Mac agreed. "Mine already know I stay up until well past midnight, though."

"Where's home for you, anyway?"

"Not one I've heard of, either," Mac admitted with a slight shrug. "That's not unusual, though. There are people from so many different dimensions it's kinda difficult to keep up with them all."

"You'll get used to it," Mac told him with a chuckle. "Trust me."

"... or, I guess not used to it," she amended. "But you certainly come to just accept it."

Mac arched an eyebrow at him. The requirement of a white jacket totally lost on her. "Why's that?"

"Oh, no. No one's gone crazy from it that I know of," Mac reassured him. "You'll be fine."

She smiled at him, as she stood up again. "Think it's cabin time for me," she said poking the stick she'd been holding into the fire. "Should at least try for an early night and my mun is waay sleepy."

"Yeah. In class at the very least." Mac grinned back. "G'night," she added, giving him a quick wave before she wandered off back towards Phoenix.
