Chupacabra Campfire [Late Afternoon]

Being inside the cabin means he can't run away should anyway try to tease him. Being outside, at least, means he can try and run away. Still, it's not like either option is good.

ONE WEEK.

He's been here one week and already he's made a gigantic fool of himself. He didn't even know who Siegfried and Roy were. And he told Luke waaaaaaaay too much. And thought the droid was a tiger.

He pulled a jacket over his head and tried to hide...in plain sight.

Inara, carrying a book, took a seat by the fire when she saw Gavin. "Good afternoon," she smiled at him.

"Gavin?" Karal came over and sat next to him, peering at him doubtfully. "Are you all right?"

"Hello," he said, peeking outside his jacket to see who it was. "Inara, hi."

"Can I come hide under your bed?" he asked. "Please?"

Kou looked at Gavin, raising an eyebrow. "So...are you normal again, or still speaking bad German?"

"Why are you hiding?" She asked, having heard the radio, but not understanding the Siegfried and Roy references.

"Normal," he said and hid further under his jacket. "Sorry about yesterday."

"Because I wasn't myself yesterday and embarrased myself big time," he answered.

"Oh, I'm so sorry."

"It's not your fault," he said, peeking out of his jacket. "It's just...whatever we were was weird. And we spoke weird. And I pretended to saw someone in half and I think we told Luke's droid to eat a person."

"Certainly! But why?" he asked. "Did you say something to Jaina you should not have?"

Inara hadn't met the droid yet. "It didn't follow orders, did it?"

"I made a fool of myself yesterday and yes, Jaina was there," he said and winced inside his jacket.

"Droids can't eat people," he said. "So, no, it didn't. I threw a treat at it's head though."

Vi wandered out to the campfire with a bag of Doritos in hand. "Hey," she said to the group. 'Anyone want some chips?"

"Oh dear." Karal patted Gavin reassuringly on the shoulder. "Surely it can't have been as bad as all that?"

Katara was wandering back to her cabin when she noticed the boy under the coat. "Are you okay? Did you get sunburned?"

"What kind of treats does a droid like?"

"It was bad," he complained. "Very bad. I'm just going to hide for the rest of the year."

"No, thanks," Gavin said from under his jacket.

"No," he said and peeked out. "I think I didn't. Did I?"

"...okay,' Vi said, crumpling the bag closed. "Is there enough air under there?"

He wasn't actually sure. "I don't know," he admitted. "He's mechanical so maybe...wires?"

"Air's good in here," he said and gave Vi a dorky thumbs up.
