Curupira campfire - Monday evening

Since she had no workshops today, Molly had slept in and then spent the majority of the day puttering around the cabin. The glittery was getting to her though. So, she went to sit outside for a while with her back to the cabin. She ignored the fact that she was almost as glittery as the cabin by now.

Dawn smiled back, "Glitter? Not in the year I've been here. Well, okay, there's a lot of glitter, and it sometimes leads to boys kissing each other for reasons I still don't get, but it's not usually a huge thing like this." She paused for breath, "You're new, right? I'm Dawn. Hi."

"Boys kiss because of glitter?" Naminé looked back at Warren, thinking that her conversation with him made more sense now. "And hello, I am. I've been told we stand out, as everyone seems able to pick out the new students with ease. I suppose I shall see it for myself next term. My name is Naminé. It's nice to meet you, Dawn."

"Sometimes? I really have no idea," she admitted, "and really, the easy part is because we all get sick of each other and we're thrilled to see new faces. So, welcome, Naminé! What are you drawing?"

"This place has its oddities, doesn't it? They seem the benevolent type. Amusing, even." Naminé smiled. "And I thank you. I'll greatly enjoy the new faces next time, myself, if only to see how many I can pick out from the crowd."

She held out her sketchpad. "I was trying to capture the glitter, and the way it makes the cabin sparkle, but I'm not actually very good. I just enjoy it too much to stop."

"Yeah, we're a bunch of raging weirdos," Dawn looked at Naminé's drawings, "They're not so bad, and I think the only thing that captures glitter is...glitter."

Naminé flushed. "Thank you. I don't consider myself to be skilled at it, but it's oddly calming. And it lets me understand connections better, that's all."

"Perhaps I need to add some glitter onto the page, then. There does seem to be enough around."

"What kind of connections are you trying to understand?" She asked, "And make sure you get some glue, too, since it doesn't stick on its own."

"Between people." She waved vaguely. "You see two people talking to each other. Are they old friends? New acquaintances? Rivals? Lovers? You just have to watch the lines. The way their faces move, the little gestures. Someone else joins them. How does that triangle work? I see it better when I sketch it out. I'm not certain why."

"And I don't believe I have any glue. A shame," Naminé mused.

"I never thought of it that way," Dawn said, examining the pictures a little more closely now. "Are you learning a lot? And the store in town should have glue."

"I haven't really any experience, with people," she said, blushing a bit. "I'm trying, I suppose, to learn. So I can understand how it all works. So I don't seem so strange." Naminé shrugged. "I suppose I do anyway, but I've been told the abnormal is perfectly fine here."

"It's kind of our specialty," Dawn told her. "Half the school's socially retarded anyway."

Naminé laughed lightly at that. "That certainly helps, then. If I'm inadvertantly rude, I'll at least be in good company, and hopefully be more easily excused."

"Seriously, don't worry about it. Most people are easygoing, and if you screw up, you apologize and move on. Either people forgive you or they don't."

Naminé nodded. "I've been forgiven for worse, on far less excuse. I won't mind if it doesn't always fall my way. I've had more than my share."
