Kraken Campfire, Later Tuesday Night

Rikku hoped it wasn't too dark that people wouldn't be able to see that she now had purple hair.

Aly was on her short list of Favorite Teachers Ever.

She hoped the Kraken bathroom had recovered from any possible dye-related mishaps.

Rikku sat in front of the campfire, bouncing to herself. Ready to chat the ear off anybody and everybody who dropped by.

"Something happened to your head, Rikku," Aravis noted helpfully, her eyes wide as she took a seat at the campfire. She was still having trouble sleeping, and figured a walk might help.

"Hi, Aravis!" Not going to bow, but a wave was good, right? "I dyed it! I don't know how long it's gonna last, I forgot to read the box. I hope it's a while. What do you think!?"

"You did that on purpose?" Aravis struggled for diplomacy. "What a vibrant color."

Rikku giggled. "I knoooooow. It kinda clashes a bit with the orange. It's so bright! It took way better than I thought it woudl. Man, I bet the green would have glowed in the dark."

As she is an Al Bhed, she does not see a problem with any of that.

"It's a lovely color," Aravis said. That was honest. Maybe not the lovliest color for someone's hair, in Aravis's prudish and boring opinion.

"Thanks! Man, maybe I should have striped it. That would be so crazy. I think Zero has stripes in her hair. It's so unbelievable." She sighed. "I kinda go for bright colors. Oh! I'm sorry! I should have offered. I have more hair dye, if you ever feel like changing yours."

"I...think I am quite all right with my current hair? But thank you kindly all the same."

Rikku flailed a little. "No! I like your hair! I didn't mean that, like, an insult, like you should change it or anything. Sorry!" She shook her head. "I put my foot in my mouth a lot. Uh, so how are you, anyway?"

Aravis laughed. "I am very well, actually. Unable to sleep, but still quite, quite well. And yourself?"

"I'm sorry?" Aravis asked, blinking.

"Whassup?" Mel said in a more clarifying yet probably more obscure phrase for Aravis.

"...the sky," Aravis answered, looking up. "Some clouds. The stars...are you not able to see them yourself?"

"It's a saying. Like 'What is up with you?'," Mel clarified. "I take it you're not from around here either?"

"...no," Aravis said slowly. "What is up with me? My...head?"

Mel sighed. "It's like 'How are you today?' Only cooler."

"Oh!" Aravis blushed. "I am quite well, and yourself?"

"I cannot sleep," she answered. "And yourself?"

"I'm a night kind of guy. I sleep better during the day. It was either this or go listen to someone snore. Unless you're the one that snores at night."

"I think that's Sokka," she said, wrinkling her nose.

"That's the ponytailed kid, right?" He hadn't really learned the guy's name because he was bouncing all over the place worse than Mikey.

Aravis nodded. "He is not very smart."

"I hadn't noticed," Raph replied sarcastically. "I'm gonna test how heavy a sleeper he is and tape him to his bed."
