Kraken Campfire, Later Tuesday Night

Rikku hoped it wasn't too dark that people wouldn't be able to see that she now had purple hair.

Aly was on her short list of Favorite Teachers Ever.

She hoped the Kraken bathroom had recovered from any possible dye-related mishaps.

Rikku sat in front of the campfire, bouncing to herself. Ready to chat the ear off anybody and everybody who dropped by.

"Nice mask." Says the guy with the red mask.

"Nice mask," Valentine retorted with a smirk. "You must be related to Donatello, hm?"
He closed the booklet of notepaper and leaned forward a little to get a better look. "My mask is my face, for the record. I figure I ought to clear that up right now."

"You can't take it off?" His mask was his face? What?

"I can take it off," Valentine replied smoothly. "There will be another just like it underneath, though." He smirked faintly and tilted his chin upward slightly. "You've never seen a man with a mask for a face, before?"
Not that many other students in Fandom really had, granted.

Raph actually had to think about that. "Plenty of guys with masks. They had faces underneath."

"So, you mean to tell me that you find my face to be odd?" Valentine was pretty certain there was irony in this somewhere, even if the turtle did seem perfectly normal to him. "Not that you'd be the first one, here, mind you. What's so odd about having a mask for a face, anyhow?"

"I didn't say odd. I don't use the word odd except for just then twice. Just sayin' I haven't met anyone with a mask for a face."

"Fair enough," Valentine replied with a shrug. "Allow me to be the first, then. I'm Valentine." He offered the turtle a hand to shake.

Raph eyed him warily as he did with most people, then shook his hand. "Raphael."

"Charmed," Valentine replied, almost dryly, as they shook hands. "And how are you adjusting to life here in Fandom, dare I ask?"

"The island is small, I'm in high school and have to share a cabin with 7 people I don't know."

"Apparently, that's supposed to be part of the charm. Right up with the school randomly being blown up. My best advice is to ignore most of it, and avoid glitter with every piece of your being."

"I'm not exactly a glitter kind of guy if you hadn't already noticed."

"Yes, I believe I was starting to get that impression of you, actually. I imagine you've already gotten the 'gremlins are bad, don't eat from the cafeteria' rundown already, as well?"

"Gremlins? My 'big sibling' must've missed that." Either that or he wasn't paying attention.

"Apparently, they make you go crazy." Valentine shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. "I wouldn't know. My brush with crazy was from a cupcake, not a gremlin."

"Don't eat cupcakes, stay away from the wildlife. Got it. Any other handy hints?"

Valentine paused for a moment to consider.
"Get yourself a good camera. Something that takes decent photos and good video. The blackmail potential around here is phenomenal."

Raph smirked. "That part I figured out already. Ain't nothing like seeing your brother at cheerleading tryouts."

Valentine was not about to point out that he had also tried out for tryouts. He figured that, at the very least, Raphael was getting the point.
