Kraken Campfire, Later Tuesday Night

Rikku hoped it wasn't too dark that people wouldn't be able to see that she now had purple hair.

Aly was on her short list of Favorite Teachers Ever.

She hoped the Kraken bathroom had recovered from any possible dye-related mishaps.

Rikku sat in front of the campfire, bouncing to herself. Ready to chat the ear off anybody and everybody who dropped by.

"Thanks, I like it," Mel said. "At one point it was all pink but I let it grow out and decided I liked the two-tone look. I didn't have too many problems getting the color though."

"Whoa, I can't picture it all pink." She laughs a little. "The two-tone thing looks all badass, though. Maybe next time I go for stripes. Unless Zero's gonna think I'm stealing her look. Or red. I just felt like a change, you know?"

"Change is always good," Mel agreed. "Sometimes it's best just to shake things up."

"Yeah." Rikku shook her head. "Where I'm from, we just shook everything up. Like, stuff for a thousand years that needed to change. But ... I think maybe it took too long, 'cause a lot of it doesn't seem like it's sticking." She made a face. "Oh, well. At least I'm here, right?"

"Well it's tough to change after a thousand years. I have to say for someone that old you look pretty young," Mel said.

Hey. Comes from a world of vampires and demons. Rikku could be more than a thousand. Rly.

Rikku laughed, assuming Mel was teasing. "Fifteen, sorry. I meant Sin and Yevon and all that. Our world's been kinda dying for centuries and we stopped it but ... things haven't really gotten better yet, I don't think. I don't know. I just wanted out of there." She shrugged.
