Fourth Floor Common Room [late evening]

Aravis couldn't sleep, yet again, and rather than disturb Karal, she'd risen and pulled her dressing gown around herself, and wandered out to the common room.

She picked up the odd little box that controlled the television's light, and illuminated the TV. She settled herself on a sofa, content to watch whatever this program might be. It seemed to be about four elderly women.

"I haven't really heard of anyone doing that," Seely said, scratching his head. "You'd probably have to leave off the sauce and anything savoury if you did."

Aravis wrinkled her nose. "I don't think I would like it. Oh! Oh, I tried a marshmallow last night. You have such lovely sweets here. I shall soon be unable to fit through the door."

"Toasted?" Seely asked. "Because those are the best, and I find that hard idea to believe."

She shook her head. "I was wary," she admitted.

"You have to try toasted ones," Seely grinned. "They're all crispy on the outside and warm and gooey inside."

"Charlie told me about something called a s'more but I didn't try it," she admitted. "But there's chocolate involved?"

"Yeah," Seely nodded, looking exactly like a little kid. "You time it right the marshmallow melts the chocolate."

Aravis looked very intrigued. "Karal said they are messy. I wouldn't mind that. I have not had warmed chocolate."

"Very," Seely grinned. "You've got gooey marshmallow and gooey chocolate, leaves you with sticky fingers." He wiggled his fingers. "You need to try hot chocolate then. The good stuff."

"You can have it hot? But if it melts, how is that possible? You just have melted, hot chocolate?" she wondered.

"It's kind of like chocolate milk," Seely said. "But warm. Only with the really good kinds it's actual melted chocolate in the hot milk, instead of just powered. And sometimes you put cream in it, or marshmallows."

"Does it come from really warm chocolate cows?" she deadpanned.

"Yes," Seely replied completely seriously. "It's the juices of a haunch of roasted chocolate cow."

Then he waited for her to hit him.

She reached over to thwap his arm. "Not that I believe you, but really. It's like you don't learn."

"I'm perfectly capable of of learning." And this would be Seely pushing his luck. "It's just... you're so cute when you're violent."

"...no I'm not," she said flatly.

"You're adorable. Really, you are."

"...I'm never adorable. Are you feverish again?"

"I don't know," Seely said innocently. "Maybe you should check."

Aravis gave him an odd look, and reached over to press the back of her hand to his forehead.

Seely reached up to trail his fingers along her wrist. "So, am I hot?"

"Not particularly," she said, raising a brow. Poor girl and her lack of knowing slang. "Just delusional."

"Good thing you're hot enough for us both then," Seely replied, grinning.

"I'm...not," she frowned, pressing her hand to her own head. "Do I look feverish?"

Seely bit his lower lip to keep from laughing. "No, you look hot."
