Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

Once again, there were appetising scents emanating from the fifth-floor common room. Ronan was in another cooking mood. This time, it was the rich and spicy scent of Mexican -- well, technically Tex-Mex -- food, grilling chicken, sweet chilies, and a dash of cumin, with sliced bell peppers and onions in another pan. Ronan was still chopping and preparing, but already on the counter was an array of tortillas, and various moddable toppings that people might wish to put on their fajitas.

"Hi!" Ronan said, smiling widely. Cooking always put him in a good mood. "Come in! Have a fajita!"

And the streak of free food in common rooms continued!

Teddy practically bounced on in and toward the food. Then realized he didn't actually know that guy cooking.

Food, then manners.

"I'm Teddy, I don't think we've met yet."

"I think you're right," Ronan said. "I'm pretty sure I'd remember you." He totally wasn't flirting. "I'm Ronan; it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Which was good because flirting made Teddy all flustered and flaily and probably a few other f-words.

"You too," Teddy replied. He looked over the food with a little awe. "Wow. The only thing I can cook is a frozen pizza."

Ronan laughed. "I love to cook. Can't bake worth a damn, or anything that requires any kind of precise measures, but everything else I do pretty well with." He gestured to the counter. "Seriously, help yourself. There's plenty."

"Better than me," Teddy insisted, snagging a tortilla to make himself a fajita. "I bake by going to JGoB."

"I made cupcakes -- made from a box -- explode. And I still don't know how." Ronan grinned. "And now someone here wants to recreate it. I agreed as long as he promised to clean up."

Teddy paused, halfway to reaching for some sour cream. "Cupcake batter exploding or the finished cupcakes exploding?"

"Exploding while they were in the oven," Ronan replied. "I ended up having to clean half-burnt, half-raw cupcake batter from inside the oven." He grinned. "But don't worry. It's seriously just the baking that's beyond me."

Casting a wary eye at the food, Teddy nodded slowly. "It I explode, I will be so pissed," He teased.

Ronan laughed. "If you explode, I will understand you being pissed. But I may not be here for you to be pissed at, because I've also eaten the fajitas and would likewise explode."

"True," Teddy admitted, taking a bit of the fajita despite the explodey threats.

"But I'm sure someone here can bring you back so I can be angry at you."

Ronan laughed. "But if they can bring me back, they can also bring you back, and then there'd be no need to be angry." He may have been leaning forward on the counter just a little more than he needed to, and the smile on his face was warm and... inviting.

"Oh, I'll survive the exploding," Teddy said, ears turning a bit red at the closeness. "I think. It's just not something I want to test."

After all, those Skrull soldiers survived Tommy's explosion happiness.

Ronan totally noticed the ears going a bit red, and smiled a little bit wider. "You can survive exploding?" he said. "Must have some kind of powers, then. Although I can understand not wanting to test it."

"Yup." Teddy leaned slightly away, looking down at his food nervously. Crap, the red was spreading now. "Resident alien."

"Cool," Ronan said. "Resident wizard, here. Who's spent some time on other planets." He paused. "I wonder if my 'other planets' are the same as yours."

Aaahaha, the red was spreading. That's so cute.

"Really?" Teddy blinked, embarrassment forgotten for the moment. "Heard of Skrulls before?"

Ronan shook his head. "No... whereabouts are they located? This galaxy?" If they were major-ish players, chances are he would have heard of them, or have something in the Knowledge, but you never know.

Teddy shook his head. "Andromeda galaxy, I think."

Ronan considered that, and double-checked with the Knowledge. "No Skrulls where I come from," he said, finally. "Lots of crazy aliens, but no Skrulls."

"Then not the same place," Teddy replied. "I'm pretty sure they're well known out in space where I'm from."

He grabbed another tortilla to make more fajitas. "Where are you from then?"

"Earth," Ronan said. "Ireland, specifically. Well, Ireland on an Earth, anyway. But being a wizard, I've gotten to travel to a number of different planets in my universe. Not as many as some of my friends, but I've been a few places."

"That must be cool," Teddy said. "I haven't been to any other planet but Earth. I only just traveled outside the country this summer."

Because being born on another planet doesn't count.

Ronan nodded. "It was incredible. ... Well, there were the times we were fighting for our lives, but even that was fun, at least in retrospect." He grinned. "If you get the chance, check out some other planets. It's totally worth it."
