Aravis was curled up on the couch, watching the television with a faint mixture of horror and interest.

She had discovered cartoons tonight, you see, and there was a Looney Tunes marathon on.

She had to admit that she really didn't understand why anyone would trust these ACME people anymore, considering the faulty wares they sold.

And she was torn on whether she preferred that annoying, noisy bird, or the poor stupid dog thing that seemed to be indestructible.

"Hello," Ronan said, smiling and waving.

Conner did a little bit of a double take. "Dude, you're -- no, wait, okay, new guy, right?"

"... Yes?" Ronan paused. "I'm Ronan. I started at the beginning of the summer session."

"Just had to make sure. You never can tell around here, sometimes." Conner held his hand out. "The accent's kind of a giveaway now that I think about it, though, man. Conner McKnight, that's Conner with an e-r, graduate and soon to be leaving."

Ronan shook the offered hand, and, more formally, said, "Ronan Nolan. New student, and hopefully not leaving for a long time." He smiled. "So, Conner with an e-r, how'd you enjoy your time at Fandom?"

If he were thickening his lilt just slightly, well, Conner had brought it up. ... And he was very pretty.

Pretty . . . but speaking of thick, that described Conner pretty well sometimes, as he didn't really notice except to wonder why he was suddenly having a slightly more difficult time understanding Ronan.

"It's been awesome, man," he said, cheerfully oblivious. "Kinda crazy, but awesome. You'll like it here if you stay."

Ronan nodded, smiling. "I'm sure I will. It's certainly been... quite a bit of fun since I got here. A few rocky patches, but nothing that was enough to make me consider leaving."

"Good. If the weirdness hasn't scared you off yet, you're in pretty good shape." Conner sobered a bit. "I wish I didn't have to leave. Don't see why anybody would want to, really."

"Weirdness?" Ronan laughed. "It's a little bit odder, sure, but really it just reminds me of home." He grinned, widely. "It's definitely nowhere near enough to scare me away."
