Aravis was curled up on the couch, watching the television with a faint mixture of horror and interest.

She had discovered cartoons tonight, you see, and there was a Looney Tunes marathon on.

She had to admit that she really didn't understand why anyone would trust these ACME people anymore, considering the faulty wares they sold.

And she was torn on whether she preferred that annoying, noisy bird, or the poor stupid dog thing that seemed to be indestructible.

"Are they quite stupid? Because this one is. Why doesn't he just save his efforts?" Aravis wondered.

"I think it's 'cause if either one of them stopped being stupid, they wouldn't be able to make any more cartoons," Will answered.

"...that's true," Aravis said, raising her brows. "I think that's the most satisfactory answer I've heard."

"Oh, thanks," Will said, grinning. "Although, sometimes, I feel really bad for that coyote, who will never ever catch the bird."

"Because then he would eat it and there would be no more cartoons!" Aravis said, pleased to know the answer.
