Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

Aravis was curled up on the couch, watching the television with a faint mixture of horror and interest.

She had discovered cartoons tonight, you see, and there was a Looney Tunes marathon on.

She had to admit that she really didn't understand why anyone would trust these ACME people anymore, considering the faulty wares they sold.

And she was torn on whether she preferred that annoying, noisy bird, or the poor stupid dog thing that seemed to be indestructible.

"I don't know, I mean, he didn't say what you guys talked about or anything, but he seemed to think it helped, yeah? And maybe just, you know. Being there was a big thing." She shrugged a little. "It was ... harder than I thought it was gonna be. Not the saving-bit, we did okay, just - some of it reminded me of older stuff I didn't wanna think about. I was all burned out when we got back."

"But you are all right otherwise?" Aravis asked, giving her a once-over for injuries.

Rikku nodded quickly. "Oh! Yeah, no, I'm totally fine. Plus I promised Jude I'd go to the clinic if I even had any bruises, 'cause he was all worried. I just meant ... ugh. Takes a lot out of you sometimes. I didn't expect it to, I guess. Kinda dumb, huh?"

"No, it's not," Aravis said. "My primary concern is always the physical, though. Your mind and heart cannot be repaired if your body is useless."

Rikku nodded. "Yeah. And ... it's not anything I need to worry about, I mean ... the shadows are gone. What they reminded me of, that's been gone a while now. I don't know why I was so jumpy. Maybe I just needed to curl up and freak out for a bit, you know?"

"It helps," Aravis said honestly. "In my experience, anyway."

Rikku nodded. "I just kinda crashed out in Jude's room Sunday night. Doing a lot better now. He's, uh." She blushed a little. "Good with that, you know?"

"I can tell," Aravis said with a smile. "I told him that was the important part, anyway, that he's there when you're done with the world-saving."

Rikku smiled. "You did? Thanks. I ... I've tried telling him that but I'm not sure he believes me. Guess that just means I've gotta say it again, yeah?"
