Third floor common room, Wednesday night

Hermione's reached a point where she's just bored. She's out of things to read that she hasn't read a dozen times already, she's out of yarn for knitting, her workshops are almost over and they're not really the studying kind, and Crookshanks hasn't been around all day to play with. Not that he plays voluntarily, but shut up.

So this is why she's in the common room, resorting to the television. It may rot the brain, but at least it's noise. She turns it on, flipping channels, and... ooh.

Hermione's found the Discovery Channel. Someone should probably stop her before the addiction sinks in.

Carmela wanders down a floor and into the common room.

"Hola," she waves to Hermione. "Ooh, what are we watching?" she says, peering inquisitively at the TV.

"I'm not sure, but the dogs are very cute," says Hermione, still watching Mythbusters intently.

Jim wandered up to the common room and smiled when he saw the Discovery Channel on. "Hey. What're you watching?"

"I haven't seen the name of it yet," Hermione says brightly. "But I want to take notes."

"Yo. Halpert. What's up?" Mel said with a jaunty wave.

"Are you still a pirate? I left the eyepatch in my room," Pam said by way of greeting.

Naminé stepped into the room, peering curiously at the screen. The logo flashed, and she blinked at it. "Discovery? What are we discovering?"

As the screen comes up showing the name, Hermione happily announces, "Mythbusters! It's fantastic!"

Such a geek.

Carmela waves tentatively at the girl she recognises from Arts and Crafts. "Hi!" she says cheerfully.

"Hey Namine," Mel said with a wave. "What's the good word?"

Mel walked into the CR and saw Hermione watching TV.

And her jaw dropped.

"Holy crap! Granger's watching TV? Rutting hell. I better call Xander and see what the apocalypse is."

"It's educational!" Hermione protests. "They have educational television!"

Conner was going over his initial roster of kids signed up for the soccer camp, and so he was a little distracted as he wandered into the common room.

"Hey, anything good o --"

That's when he saw the screen, and gave an involuntary full-body shudder.

He was a little allergic to the Discovery Channel.

"Conner is have a conniption," Mel announced. "Anyone have anti-seizure medicine?"

Hermione actually recognizes that sort of reaction. "It's good, I promise," she assures him.

"Hi Conner," Carmela says, with an eyeroll for the shudder.

"TV, my close, personal friend," Alec said with a sigh as he vaulted over the back of the couch to take a seat. "Does this have monsters or explosions -- or both? And if not, why are we watching it?"

"That was going to be my question when I stopped twitching," Conner said dryly.

"No monsters or explosions," Hermioen says. "Dogs. And it's educational."

"Educational crap," Mel replied quickly but she had more pressing matters to deal with. "So is Jim a vampire?"

"We're watching old dogs learn new tricks," Hermione grins.

Adam was once again, on the third floor. What?

He made his way to the common room, wondering who might be around tonight. "Hey."

Carmela recognizes Adam from the History workshop, though she's pretty sure they never actually introduced themselves. "Hola!" she says with a friendly wave.
