2nd Floor Common Room - Thursday After Classes

Since Sparkles had deemed himself master of the remote in 222, Dick had to go to the common room to watch something that wasn't cartoons. He grabbed a soda and a bag of Cheetos out of the kitchen and sat down to flip through the channels.

"Boooooooooooooooooooored," Luke said overdramatically as he wandered into the common room. "Anything good on? Or so terrible you just can't stop watching?"

"Dude, I'm just trying to find something that isn't cartoons." he said. "Right now I'm trying to decide between Food Network and the 'Celebreality' on VH1."

"Food," Luke said, walking over to the fridge and rummaging around until he surfaced with three apples and three different jars of stuff to dip with them.

Which he'd picked randomly. He was going to regret the apples and salsa combination.

Dick noticed the salsa but didn't say anything. He figured it was some weird other-planet thing like Isabel and the tabasco.

"Didja hear about the new principal?" asked Dick, grabbing a handful of Cheetos out of the bag.

"Just the announcement this morning," Luke said, cutting up the apple quickly and dumping it onto a plate. "And Hermione's response. The girl's got a pair of lungs on her." He shrugged. "The new woman seems a little aggressively perky, but other than that, I don't know."

He dipped an apple in the salsa and made a face. "Ew."

"Have you met her?"

"No, and I don't hope to. I got in enough trouble with Zoe." said Dick. At least with Zoe he knew to be scared. This lady...he had no idea. "I'm just glad they didn't move Hades up. That would have been scary."

Luke nodded, eyes wide. "His hair is really great, though," he said a little wistfully. "Um, not that I'm anxious to set myself on fire or anything to get the same thing."

"Dude, I know! It changes colors and everything." he said. "Those Gods get to have all the cool hair dos. And the weird sideburns."

"Yeah, what is with Ares's face? It's so...trying too hard."

Luke wasn't terribly thrilled by the teacher he got to assist, no.

"Maybe it's actually a map that leads to treasure." said Dick, shrugging. "At least I hope there's a practical reason for it cause it ain't attracting any ladies."

"Maybe he's trying to attract not-ladies," Luke decided. "Livestock or something."

"Well now you've taken my mind to a dark and disturbing place." he said, giving a slight shudder.

"Sorry," Luke said, looking sheepish hahahahahha, oh I kill me. He held out the apples. "Apples and peanut butter?"

"Nah, thanks I've got my junk food." he said, holding up the Cheetos. "Mmm, artificial cheese flavor."

"That's very orange," Luke said, never afraid of stating the obvious. "I learned about Twizzlers a couple of weeks ago. They taste like red."

"Twizzlers are freaking awesome." said Dick. "But my favorite branch of the junk food tree is definitely the snack cakes. Twinkies, Ho Hos, Ding Dongs. All delicious and with no health benefits whatsoever."

"And great names for food, too," Luke agreed, beginning to regret his healthy-ish choice. "Think there might be any in the cabinets?"

"Oh yeah, there's gotta be. I think it's required that Twinkies be in every kitchen." he said. "It's, like, the only food that'll survive during a nuclear blast."

"And they're much tastier than the field rations I have that could do the same thing," Luke said, gleefully abandoning his apple.

He rummaged around for a bit. "Success!" he said, tossing a Twinkie towards Dick.

"Yes! Awesome!" he said. He held it up for a second. "It just might be the perfect snack."

"Dawn was trying to convince me of the same thing," Luke admitted, snagging one for himself and launching over the back of the sofa to land on the cushions with a thump. "I like the chocolate things better."

"Sometimes I stray to the chocolate stuff. But my heart will always belong to Twinkie." Dick paused for a second. "That sounded less weird and creepy in my head."

"I'm not bothered," Luke said with a smile, popping a piece of Twinkie into his mouth.
