Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

Aravis was curled up on the couch, a dog at her feet and a bag of popcorn beside her.

No, of course it wasn't burned. That might imply that she had followed the directions as best she could, and still failed. Which was certainly not the case.

She flipped through the channels on the television, no real aim in mind aside from steering away from anything with that obnoxious false-sounding laughter. Her mind was elsewhere, and possibly pondering how she could possibly mock that awful woman more. It had suddenly become vastly more appealing, now that she was not allowed.

"Ahhh, okay," A.J. nodded. "One of those things..." He looked at Aravis thoughtfully for a moment before asking, "What's it like there. In...Calor..men?" He wasn't sure if he got the name right.

"I hail," A.J. couldn't help grinning when he said that word, "from New Jersey, which isn't very far from here, but I'm from twelve years ago, so that counts for something, right?"

"My boyfriend is from the fairly recent past, as well," she replied, pleased to have something in common. Sort of. "Is there an older version of you walking around out there?"

A.J. looked at Aravis a little wide-eyed.

"That's....kind of a frightening idea. I don't think, if there were, I'd want to meet him."

"I'd be curious," she sighed. "Seely thinks there's a thirty-five year-old version of him out there, and he said the same thing about not wanting to investigate."
