The Roof, Thursday Evening

It was a nice night and Tori didn't feel like staying in her room. So, she was on the roof. Enjoying the weather.

And possibly plotting what to do about a certain temporary principal, especially after today's morning announcement.

"So those reports weren't exaggerated?"

Tori shook her head. "I wish they were," she might've shuddered ever so slightly. "How are you doing?"

"Jeez and I thought my dad was diabolical." Billy muttered. "I'm doing pretty good. Staying out of trouble for now. You gonna come to King's Dominion on Saturday?"

"I'm planning on it, as long as nothing happens between now and Saturday that prevents me from attending," Tori answered truthfully. "It seems like it will be fun."

"Don't jinx yourself, I want this trip to go better than my last few forays onto the mainland."

"Right, sorry," Tori grinned sheepishly. "I doubt anything will happen," she attempted, hoping to keep anything bad away until after the trip.

Billy chuckled. "Well anyway, I'm glad I ran into you. There's something I wanted to talk to you about." Billy had a list of people in his head that he wanted to talk to about this. If word got out, fine. But so far, it was only specific people.

"Oh yeah? What's that?" Tori was curious, she hoped everything was okay.

"You remember when I told you about my family?" mun is almost certain they've talked about it.

Tori nodded, recalling the conversation. "I do, yes. Is everything okay?" They definitely have, yeah.

"Well, most of it was a lie." He paused for dramatic effect to see how she'd take that.

Tori hadn't expected that response from Billy. "Oh," she wasn't sure what else to say. Usually when someone lied about something, there was a pretty good reason for it. "How come?" She was giving Billy the benefit of the doubt.

Billy let out a breath. "Well, because I'm in witness protection. But I've recently decided it'd be safer all around, if people knew the truth."

Not an answer Tori was expecting. "Okay, wow. What happened that put you in witness protection? And who's ass do I have to kick for causing you problems?"

"My father's." he smirked humorlessly. "My parents aren't dead, my mom's in witness protection...somewhere, I don't know. And my father's the leader of an international terrorist organization called Cobra. And he's completely insane."

"Your dad?" A shocked Tori, again. "Oh man, that's got to be rough. I'm sorry, Billy," she managed. "Insanity, always fun to deal with."

He nodded. "He's alternately washed his hands of me, tried to kill me, or tried to recruit me, by hook or by crook. He doesn't know where I am, but I thought it'd be prudent for people to know, just in case he shows up."

"Yeah, it makes sense," Tori nodded. "I'm glad you trusted me with this, Billy, really I am," she smiled sincerely.

"He tends to dress in a blue military type uniform, and he always has his face covered. Either he'll be wearing a cowl, or a helmet that's got this reflective faceplate. Or possibly he'll look like Vader."

"I'll keep an eye out for him, then," Tori nodded, meaning it. "Besides, if he tries anything? I'll be sure to give him a piece of my mind." And a little something else.

"Be real careful if you do. I know everyone probably says this about their arch-nemesis, but he's a very dangerous man. He hasn't survived this long and stayed in charge by being a pushover."

"I will be, I can promise you that," Tori smiled. "Yeah, I knew someone similar."

"He was my friend's uncle," Tori admitted.
