Willow was bored. So she took her hedgehog Philbert over to the common room to watch TV.

To her delight, Stage Right was on.

Of course it wasn't on a premium channel, so a lot of the swear words were dubbed. But still!

"You'll like this," she told Philbert. "There's dancing!"

"...No," Jeff scrambled, "I mean, she's very present-- she's a very present girlfriend, I mean, it's not as if she's-- unpresent. She's just present elsewhere! Close by. ...Just not here."

"So she's ... not at Fandom?" Naminé asked, still speaking slowly. And trying to follow this strange chain of conversation. "Do you miss her a great deal?"

"No, no no no!" Jeff said, sounding nervously relieved. How he pulled that one off was anyone's guess, "She's just off being present on another floor."

He paused.

"...I wish she didn't do that."

"You could go to her floor," Naminé suggested. "Drop in and say hello? She might like that."

It had occurred to Naminé that this girlfriend might only be a figment of his fractured mind, but she hoped that wasn't true. Except that meant he was in a relationship with some poor girl, and perhaps it was better to hope for the other alternative?
