Cheer camp! SHOW, gym, 14:00, Sunday

The gym was set up with left over cookies, drinks and much space for the audience to watch the cheerleaders perform. Buffy would probably go out and bodily drag audience in if necessary, but she hoped the combination of cookies and short skirts would do her job for her.

She eyed him. "And now you have me worried again. What happened?"

"Nothing!" Also the truth. In a manner of speaking. "Just a green light and then..." (Nate.) "...waking back up."

Aly narrowed her eyes at him. "This is me not quite believing you."

Wade frowned, looking off at the kicking and bouncing cheerleaders.

Tricksy spy.

"Saw Nate."

"He -" she tried to think of the right word. "Sent you back here?"

Well. That sounded dumb. Least she didn't ask if he was a god.

Wade made a face at that. "I don't think so. Said something about hope and looked all plotty. But that could've been the dramatic eye flare. He did love that dramatic eye flare."

Which...sounded a lot like Kyprioth and she swore if Wade's ex was a Trickster, she was not going to be amused.

Well, okay, maybe a little.

"Gotta admire a man would loves a nice piece of theatre."

Wade smirked. "Shoulda seen when he put that island of his together. Two-page spreads and all the dramatic exposition you could handle."

She paused for a second. Because really. "Please don't tell me he has a fascination for crows, hmm?"

"Not that I know of," Wade replied slowly. "Though there is that kooky Phoenix Force that runs in the family."

"Totally different. Good," she said with a nod. "Have you seen him since?"

"Nope." And he sounded like this was the best thing that could happen.

"Get everything straightened out with Arashi?"

Because that hopefully had followed.

"We... talked." Amongst other things.

Aly was so, so thankful Wade didn't feel the need to tell her about the other things.

"Turned out okay?"

"Well..." Wade shrugged. "I think so?"

She leaned into hug him again. This was possibly because she still wanted to reassure herself. "Good."

Well hugs were pretty nice. Right up there with the groping.

Only less dirty.

"Get out asses kicked together, huh?"

"Someone told me that was how it was supposed to work," Aly said, looking amused.

"Damn straight it is!" Wade replied, squeezing just a bit tighter. "Just don't take that too much to heart. You and Arashi can't take as much."

She winced as that extra squeeze proved yes, ow, that was the case. "Hey, I can take anything you can," Aly said, teasingly. "I just can't get up from as much."

"Same thing," Wade replied sulkily.

Aly leaned in and just barely kissed him on the cheek. "I'll take it into consideration."

Wade blinked, taken aback by the gesture. "I--uh..."

Aly should feel proud, she made the Merc with the Mouth speechless.

She looked at him then started grinning at his reaction, trying not to actually laugh to avoid pulling on sore muscles and stitches. "So glad you agree."
