Cheer camp! SHOW, gym, 14:00, Sunday

The gym was set up with left over cookies, drinks and much space for the audience to watch the cheerleaders perform. Buffy would probably go out and bodily drag audience in if necessary, but she hoped the combination of cookies and short skirts would do her job for her.

ooc: wait for ocd. OCD is up! GO GREMLINS!

Molly appreciated the kiss, but remembered what happened the last time she kissed him in the gym and reciprocated by hugging his arm and leaning her head on his shoulder.

"So I saw you and Aravis talking. You get everything straightened out?"

"We did," he replied, slipping his arm around her waist. "Jack made overtures at her when he awoke in my body," his tone was resigned, "and she threw both her shoes at him. Which I think he more than deserved!"

Molly giggled. "Did she hit him?" she asked, amused. "Do you have any bruises?"

[[OOC: Sorry. Internets went away.]]

"She was kind enough to miss, fearing that I had lost my senses, so I am free of bruises." Karal put his forehead against her shoulder, laughing a little. "Now I am wondering what else he might have done! I fear there I may be explaining for some time."

Molly chuckled again and lightly stroked his hair. "Just say it was Fandom weirdness and everybody should understand."

"I feel as if it should disturb me more. In Karse, magic which shifted a person's soul to another's body would be considered a great evil, but here," he placed his other hand over their joined ones, "it was simply a day of strangeness." He smiled and kissed her cheek. "Fandom Weirdness explains all."

"Is magic used a lot in Karse?" Molly asked curiously.

"That is not a simple question," he replied, tracing his thumb over her knuckles while he thought. "There are Priest-Mages, and there are Healers, who use magic. And there are miracles, but they come from Vkandis, and are beyond magic. There was a time when magic was used to mimic miracles, but since Solaris ascended, such trickery is no more."

"There's magic on my world, but it all gets mixed in with the mutants and other powered people so it's not as noticeable," Molly observed.

"In Karse, only Priests may use magic. And only true magic, from what is called the Mage-Gift, although that will change, I am sure. There are people who are born with mind-magic, but for generations they," he faltered and his hand tightened on hers, "they were not welcome."

Molly looked at him and wondered what the hesitation was about, but this wasn't the place to talk about possibly troublesome topics. She covered their hands with her free one and ask about something else. "But not all Priests use magic, right? 'Cause you don't. Or is there another reason?"

"Oh!" Karal turned to smile at her. "No, there are only a small number of Priests who use magic. It is simply that those who are born with the Mage-Gift are chosen to serve Vkandis. In Karse, not all Priest are Mages, but all Mages are Priests."

Molly nodded. "That makes sense," she said. "It's like at home, all X-Men are mutants, but not all mutants are X-Men."

Karal frowned, shifting a little more on the bench so he could face her, which coincidentally pressed his knee against hers. "What are X-Men?"

"The X-Men are a team of superheroes on my world," Molly explained. "They fight super villains and save the world a lot."

"Heroes," he said, understanding, and he smiled. "It is a comfort to know that, no matter the world, there are those who fight to help others, to keep them safe." Karal brushed his lips against her temple. "As you will some day."
