Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

At the counter in the common room, Ronan was just grating some cheddar cheese to go along with the pot of chili he had simmering; it was just about finished, so the smells should, by this time, be making their way through the dorms, as food smells tend to do. There were some rolls, too, that he'd handwavily picked up, both white and wheat.

The smells were what drew Tori to the common room.

"Hey Ronan," she smiled as she spotted him. "Something smells delicious."

"I followed my nose," Johnny said by way of greeting Ronan when he saw him in the kitchen. "I was just coming to visit you; learning I might get free food is an added bonus."

"Thanks, Tori!" Ronan grinned. "Chili. Grab a bowl, it's just about ready."

Ronan cocked his eyebrow. "Oh?" he said. "And what prompted the urge to visit, exactly?" There was laughter dancing in his eyes, playfully, but he covered it well in the rest of his face.

"You're welcome," Tori grinned back. "Oh, thank you." She grabbed a bowl, happy to try some chili.

"Not a problem at all!"

Ronan grabbed a bowl for himself, sprinkling some of the grated cheese on top before taking a spoonful. "It's nice to have Her Pinkness finally gone," he continued, as a conversation opener.

There was ... food!

This proved quite tempting to Neil, particularly as he hadn't been the one who had to cook it.

Thus, he was following his nose.

"Something smells delicious."

"Yes it is," Tori agreed, tasting the chili. "This is excellent, Ronan!" It really was. "I don't know what I would've done if she was still here when I left." Which was in two days.

Ronan frowned a bit. "When are you leaving?" he asked. "Not too soon, I hope?"

Tori's frown matched his. "In two days."

"Wanted to talk to you," Johnny said, not meeting his eyes. He took a pinch of cheese and ate it, smiling. "Looks good."

"Thanks! Chili. Want some?"

Sometimes, Ronan could be... short of words. It made up for the times he couldn't stop talking.

"Please, thank you." Neil said with a smile, looking around for a bowl.

Ronan's face fell a little bit, wondering if perhaps this was a conversation he wouldn't like. "Yeah?" he asked. "What's up?"

"Yeah? That... well, yeah, least she's gone, then." He grinned suddenly. "Did you have a chance to do anything against her while she was here?"

Dammit. Johnny saw his face and looked down, away, anywhere but his eyes.

"Ronan, I... Me and Savannah... we sort of made things exclusive between us."

"I did," Tori grinned mischievously. "I helped to paint her office blue. You?"

Look! A bowl! Right there in front of him. Ronan grinned as he held it out. "Feel free to help yourself," he said, "and to the rolls, too."

"... Oh?"

That? Was unexpected. Very unexpected, in fact. Ronan... wasn't entirely certain how he felt about it, even -- or perhaps especially -- after his weekend encounter with Teddy and Chad, and what had happened there.

"That's... good for you, then. She's making you happy?"

"That was you?" Ronan said, laughing. "I was in her office later that night! Good job with that. Uh, Carmela and I turned off the PA and her electricity, Anders and I left her exploding cupcakes, and I sent every single kitten plate smashing to the ground."

He paused. "I really didn't like her."

A bowl, chili, cheese and a roll!

How could a growing boy go wrong!

"Wonderful," Neil said, reaching for the bowl and giving Ronan another easy grin. "It smells great."

He nodded and shoved his hands in the front pockets of his jeans. "I know it must seem kind of sudden for you, uh? It's only been a few days now...but yeah, she makes me happy."

Ronan blushed, just slightly. "Thanks," he said, feeling perhaps like he was saying that a lot. "I hope it tastes good, too."

"I'll be sure to pass my compliments on to the chef," Neil promises with a good natured wink and he turned to carry off the goodies.

A wry grin accompanied Ronan's reply of, "You just did."
