River looked up at the sky. Once it got dark enough the stars would be visible. She smiled. That would be decoration enough. The music was already playing and she tooka a few dance steps, then spun around, closing her eyes.

Still, to be a proper party there was a few other things needed, and River had made sure they were there. Buffy had let her borrow the CD-player they used for the cheerleader practice, and Isabel had brought a large collection of CDs. River herself had provided snacks, mainly the kind bought from a shop, and had mixed a non-alcoholic punch.

From somewhere a few bags of glitter had appeared, available for anyone who needed it. River frowned, then shrugged. She placed the chair she had promised Adah next to the stairs, hoping that she would brave the long climb up to the roof, and put a blanket on top of it.

[Up early because I'm in a timezone that makes me want to go to bed before everyone else. Everyone's invited to party and dance. ~~Wait for OCDs!~~ OCDs are up!]

"So how'd the first week of classes treat you?" she asked. "Different then Sunnydale?"

"So different! I tell you, Isabel, there are days I almost feel like one of the cool kids here." Andrew was still floored by that feeling.

Isabel laughed, thinking of her conversation with Claire. "Andrew haven't you figured it out? We're all the cool kids here."

Andrew shrugged and said, "Just give me time. I'm fighting sixteen years of ingrained punching bagness here."

"Understandable," she nodded. "But that's not a problem here. Or, if it is? Tell me. It's my job to look out for you."

Andrew laughed and asked, "Have I told you lately how great you are?"

Then he added, "Oh! And you need to meet your new grand-sib -- if that's what you would call him. He's pretty cool -- a little dark and broody, but still cool. A demon, in fact. From Hell."

"No. But you can now," Isabel grinned before frowning. "For real? Why is he here? Is he dangerous?" Yeah, between the Source and what Isabel's learned from Bel and Angel, she's not to happy to hear a demon's in town.

Andrew saw the grin turn upside down and cringed. "No, no, no," he said hastily, "He doesn't seem dangerous at all. In fact, I think he's quite nice and oh so polite."

He decided not to mention Blackheart's tendency for flashing dark evil eyes and wicked teeth.

And the Source masquerading as Bel didn't seem dangerous at first either. "Forgive me if I have a hard time believing that. Everything I've ever been told about demons, by demons mind you, says they're up to no good."

"That's really not quite true. There are a lot of very well documented cases of demons who are good or demons who have souls. Besides, I don't think they would just let someone into the school if they were really all that dangerous."

Andrew's memory really could resemble that of goldfish at times (cough*Umbridge*cough). He had a blind spot for demonic things.

"I know a vampire with a soul and a demon that turned his back on everything he was raised to believe. According to them? They're pretty damn unusual," Isabel replied. "And I'm not even going to talk about what this school considers dangerous."

"Well just wait till you meet him before you go all judgmental. Blakheart's not all that evil. I think he might have even found me a little amusing."

Cats probably find mice a little amusing. Just before they eat them. But Isabel just nodded. "I'll wait. But I'm going to be wary. What's his name by the way?" There was a call to Bel and Angel in her future.

"Blackheart!" Andrew exclaimed, as though it was the coolest name ever.

"Oh. Do you know what kind of demon he is?" she asked. The more information, the better, although she did feel a bit guilty about pumping Andrew like this.

"I didn't ask, but he can take human form and he holds actual conversation, so that puts him at least in the upper mid level of Rienhart's scale of power. I didn't want to hit him up with a thousand questions all at once, so I really can't tell you any more than that."

"Rienhart's scale of power?" Isabel repeated. "Do I even...no. Nevermind. I don't. I guess I'll have to talk to him myself. Just be careful okay?"

"Hey," Andrew said matter of factly, "it's my thing. I'll be careful. Besides, Mr. Giles and I have been working on banishing spells. I just can't wait to see what languages he speaks."

"I'm sorry," she apologized. "Even after being here all the time, and having Bel and Angel for friends, the whole demon thing still boggles me at times. Did you tell Mr. Giles about him?"

"Not yet, but I'm sure it will come up at our next lesson," Andrew replied.

"And I really need to get updated on the music scene. I know I'm only a few years behind in the Fandom time line and all, but that's an eternity in the music world." Andrew foot was tapping to the beat.

"Tell him." Isabel still hadn't actually met Mr. Giles, but she's heard enough from Dawn and Xander to trust that he'd know how to handle the situation.

Isabel's foot was doing a little tapping of it's own. "I'm not sure what to tell you. My tastes are all over the place. What do you like?"

"Electronica, some classical, some techno, a little world music, some classic rock, Celine Dion... I'm pretty open."

"Classic rock is still classic. I think the Eagles have a new album coming out. The rest? I can't help you with," she told him. "I tend more towards chick tunes, some folk and some alternative."

"I made an attempt to go to Groovy Tunes this week, but the guy working there was sleeping and I didn't want to wake him up. Maybe I'll give it another go this coming week."

"Either that or check out iTunes online. Get your music fix any time of the day or night," Isabel grinned. "Except be careful. All those 99 cent purchases add up."
