4th Floor Common Room: Saturday Morning (all morning)

Claire woke early by default, even after a long party, but she was thoughtful enough to quit her room as soon as she did, leaving the roomie to sleep.

Still in pyjamas and a big fluffy dressing gown, she curled up on the couch with cereal and chocolate milk, and switched the TV on to AMSF

It was the recent one with the really bad theme tune, but Claire wasn't that fussy.

"Much less sense," he agreed, chuckling as some particularly improbable scene played across the screen. With an effort he tore his attention away and smiled at her. "Are you well this morning, Claire?"

"At the gathering on the roof?" he guessed as he made his way into the kitchen to continue his quest for tea.

The quest for tea was easily fulfilled, what with the tea pot and the tea and the kettle, which he filled and plugged in.

"I prefer less people," he admitted, looking a touch uncomfortable. "And dancing and I are not well acquainted, not even when someone else is in my body. Would you care for tea?"

Slightly pink, he got out a second mug. "Yes, and glory, it was odd! They warned me about Fandom Weirdness, but I never expected to wake up in another person's body, or for them to wake up in mine, but that is what happened."

"I do not know how it happened, but my mind was in another student, Jack Harkness', body. I went to sleep as myself, and I woke up as him."

The kettle was boiling, and he was going to blame his sudden flush on the steam, and not on that memory. "Fandom Weirdness, so everyone said, and it wore off by the next day."

"Not dismissed it," he said thoughtfully as he spooned tea into the pot and slowly poured water over it. "It was more as if it was simply an accepted part of life here. Like a cold! Unpleasant, but not something to be concerned about unless it goes on for too long a time."

"I guess it is simply what you are used to. I was very unhappy when it happened, but Jack was not in the least concerned." Far from it, actually, but Karal didn't want to go back down the blushing path. "And I did not take any harm from it."

"I would not want to have it happen again. It was more than a little disconcerting, and his body was taller. I kept tripping." With a small smile, Karal poured two mugs of tea, and offered one to Claire. "But even with all Jack's experience, he still could not make my body into a good dancer."

The blush came back and he settled into a chair, concentrating deeply on his tea. "He wanted to," he said in a strangled voice. "But I made him promise he would not."

Karal waved it away, laughing a little himself. "No, it is funny, I know."

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-09-08 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"It was as far from funny as one can get," he admitted, taking a sip of tea.

And that made him smile widely and duck his head. "We are good."
