Third floor common room [after classes]

Luke was in the common room surrounded by the ingredients to make sand cookies--and his cakensmoosher in case things got out of hand--frantically searching for the piece of flimsiplast that had the recipe on it.

He and Jo had a date to make cookies.

And Luke couldn't cook.

This shouldn't be a disaster. Really.

Artoo was in the corner with his video running. Artoo was an evil, evil droid.

Having no classes today and being sofar behind in his potions homework for Hogwarts it wasn't even funny, Ron did the responsible thing and ditched his schoolwork to see if he can find that TV show that blew stuff up.

"Hello!" Ron said with a wave as he entered the common room. "Mind if I watch the TEEVEE?"

Luke gave him a smile. "Of course not," he said. "We're making cookies. They should be ready in a little while."

"Oh?" Ron said as his stomach gurgled. "So you'll be sharing them? That's awfully kind of you. I'm Ron by the way. New student, feel free to try and break my head."

"The recipe--once I can find it--makes enough to feed a tauntaun, if they liked cookies," Luke said. "I'm Luke. Welcome to Fandom."

"Tauntaun?" Ron asked as he turned on the TV and started surfing channels. "Is that some kind of animal?"

Luke nodded. "It's a pack animal, mostly," he said. "It's not known for its taste in cookies."

"Kind of like a horse?" Ron asked as he found the discovery channel and was once again disappointed by the lack of explosions. "And it doesn't like cookies?"

However Mike Rowe getting pecked by an Ostrich looked amusing enough.

"Kind of," Luke said. "It smells a lot worse, though."

He grinned at the television. "That has to hurt."

Ron just kind of boggled at it. "Seriously. This is the man's job? To be eaten by animals?"

"I guess?" Luke sounded unsure. "I'm not exactly from around here."

"Oh?" Ron said giving Luke a curious look. His accent sounded American. "Where are you from? I'm from over in England."

"A different galaxy," Luke said casually. "It's far, far away."

"Oh! Are you from the same planet as Isabel?" Ron asked thinking of the only alien he's met so far.

"Hey," Jo said, waving back. "Not at all."

"Oh, good. Excellent," Ron said getting slightly tongue tied and not trying to stare at Jo. "I'm Nom. I mean Ron."

"Hi, Ron," Jo smiled. "I'm Jo."

"You're in my Feminism class, right?" Ron said awkwardly. "The one taught by the guy in the pajamas."

"Professor Deadpool? Yeah, I am."

"Is he always that nuts?" Ron asked. "I've had some batty teachers back home but he's completely mental."

"I think usually the crazy is dialled down a little more. He's still better than some we've had."

"You've had crazier?" Ron said raising both his eyebrows. "No way."

"Our recent substitute principal was insane, the really bad kind."

"Umbridge," Ron said darkly. "Yeah. I know her. She was at my old school."

"Lucky you," Jo deadpanned. "You have the fun of getting called into her office too?"

"Called? More like dragged," Ron said tersely. "Bunch of my friends were dragged into her office for trying to get one of my friends in contact with his godfather. Luckily we were able to break out of the office once Harry and Hermione distracted her."
