There was a table, there were clipboards, there were big signs with glitter and a little safebox for money. Turtle Wexler? Was in her element, bouncing excitedly as she made sure to meticulously keep everything set up nicely, with the yearbooks and the glitter to go along with the theme of Fandom memories and maybe inspire some people to share them if they wanted to help with how the StuCo was going to make everything work. And, of course, there was doughnuts and cookies and cupcakes and tea and coffee and Squishies.

Well, Turtle had thought to bring Squishies because it was kind of her thing, after all, but then she had left out considering that they needed to stay cold. So there was Squishy flavored water.

The clipboards were neatly arranged for sign-ups for carnival booths, and the voting box was ready to receive last minute nominations for court before the polls went up tomorrow.

Turtle cracked her knuckles, and settled in, ready to sell what tickets remained and be a successful representative of her Fandom High Student Council. Oh-em-gee, YAY!!!

The voting on the finalists will go up Thursday night and the Court will be announced at the dance. And I'll include the links for the booths, too. ]]

Now that Anders knew for sure he had tickets to buy, he arrived in the lobby with money in hand. "Hi, Turtle. Three, please?"

"Hi, Anders," Turtle said, happily taking his money and setting together the tickets. "That's not the usual number; resurrection of the Super-Happy-Special-Awesome-Bel-Phoebe-Anders-Cuddle-Time-Magic-Special?"

Anders grinned at her. "You make it sound so much less dignified that way," he said, as if dignity ever had anything to do with it. "But hey, what else is Homecoming for?"

Turtle had an answer to that involving the social mores and pitfalls of the high school demographic, but, since she was on StuCo now, she felt like she shouldn't say it. So she didn't and just shrugged. "I don't get to say it any more on radio; I saw an opportunity and had to seize it. Bet you're excited, huh? They both graduated last year, didn't they?"

"Yeah," Anders said, half bouncing, half wistful; given that he might have just responded to such an answer with a blank stare, it was probably best for all concerned that Turtle didn't say it. "The long distance thing kinda sucks, but so far it's working pretty well."

You know, except for the whole amnesia incident, but the less said about that the better.

"How did you say that all the time on radio without, like, passing out from oxygen loss? I feel like I owe you a bottle of water for it or something."

"Hey Boss!" Sora smiled brightly as he came up and looked at the table curiously. "What's all this?"

"Hi, Sora!" Turtle greeted him back just as brightly. "This is all stuff for homecoming! It's a big event coming up this week that's sort of a tradition for high schools in this world. We've got a carnival," she gestured informatively toward the booth sign-up sheets, "and there's a big formal dance, too, that I'm selling tickets for," she patted the money box, "and you can nominate for two girls and two boys in your class to try to be voted into homecoming court, too." She concluded, then, with a gesture toward the ballot box and smiled at him with her usual, confident manner.

"A dance?" Sora blinked looking dumbfounded and a little panicked at the mention of it. "Like with girls and stuff?"

Turtle tried not to, but she couldn't help a small laugh. "Yeah. With girls and stuff. No one's told you about homecoming yet? I'm very disappointed in them."

Sora smiled sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, I don't think anyone really has, but I do kinda have a tendecy to zone out sometimes."

Since he actually had a date now, Jim wandered down to the lobby to buy some tickets.

"Hey, Turtle. Two, please." Because even though he had to plot revenge on Turtle for trying to sink two of his jokes on the radio, there was no reason not to be polite to a friend.

Ron was trying to do conversion from wizarding realm currency to American currency and was failing utterly.

"I need two tickets?" he said looking anxious.

"Sure," Turtle said, grinning a little with a quirked eyebrow at the guy's nervousness, and told him what the handwavey amount was.

Ron sighed at the price and started digging out change from his pockets paying the last fifteen cents of the tickets with pennies. "Is that all right then?"

Hey, money was money.

"Yup!" Turtle shoveled the pennies toward the edge of the table with one hand, into the other and dropped them ceremoniously into the money box before handing over two tickets to the red-head kid. "Here you go! Enjoy! Don't forget to vote for court and sign up for a booth!" And there she flashed her usual sales(wo)man smile.
