First Floor Lobby - All Day

Today Meg was the student council representative behind the voting table. She had ~~handwavily~~ bought coffee and doughnuts and had them sitting beside the old yearbooks and pictures from past Fandom events.

There were clipboards with sign up sheets for the carnival and a voting box for Homecoming court.

Meg had a cup of coffee in her hand and was flipping though an old yearbook, making sure to skip past any pages that had mention of a certain blonde detective.

[OCD ~~coming~~ up! Each student can nominate two boys and two girls from their class for the Homecoming Court. The voting on the finalists will go up Thursday night and the Court will be announced at the dance.]

"Pretty good, all things considered," Dean said, not bothering to hide his smirk at Peter's reaction. "You?"

"...good?" Peter said, figuring that was a good answer to start with.

Dean nodded pleasantly and then said, "So I take it you're waiting for me to pull out a shotgun or something and threaten you about Sammy?"

"Does it help if I say I wasn't expecting a shotgun?"

"Knife? Shovel? Frying pan?"

"Figured old-fashioned fist to the face," Peter said. Since that's what Nathan would've done in Dean's place.

"Kinda lacks style, don't you think?" Dean asked critically. "And shows a lack of planning."

"Still: classic."

Dean gave a half shrug. "I like to think I'm a bit more creative. Though hey, Sammy did punch Alec once which caused a hell of a lot less problems than when he got creative so I guess there's something to be said for the classics."

"For what it's worth I wasn't trying to hurt Sam or anything," Peter told Dean. "I'd never do that. I couldn't."

"I know," Dean said seriously. "And fuck, considering what I was doing when I couldn't remember, I'd be one hell of a hypocrite to get angry at you."

"I feel horrible about the whole thing," Peter said. "It's the kind of thing that could really ruin a friendship, which is the last thing I'd want."

"Don't beat yourself up over it," Dean advised. "It'll only ruin stuff if you let it."

"Got any advice on making things be okay with me and Sam?" Peter asked.

"Beyond stop beating yourself up about it?" Dean asked with a half smile. "Think of this past weekend as a glimpse into an alternate universe that has no affect on this one."

"I think I can try that," Peter said. "Thanks for understanding."

Dean shrugged. "Like I said, I've been there. This weekend even. You can't dwell on these sort of things too much or you end up turning into a sulky emo teenager with poofy hair."

Peter had an older brother. He knew this kind of implication when it came at him. Ergo, he glared.

Dean smirked and spread his hands. "Dude, I just call them as I see them."

"For that I'm not nominating you for Homecoming Court."

"Do I look like that the kind of guy that would be heartbroken over that?" Dean asked.

"Maybe I will nominate you then."

"Knock yourself out, Petey," Dean told him, slinging a companionable arm around his shoulders.

"Only Nathan gets to call me that," Peter said, immediately.

Dean chuckled. "You were practically my brother in law this weekend, doesn't that get me some priviledges?"
