Cheerleading Demo - Gym - Early Saturday Afternoon

The gym was decked out in the school colors, and there was a big banner that said "WELCOME FRIENDS AND FAMILIES!" along with posters saying "GO GREMLINS!"

There were refreshments stations set up outside the gym handing out popcorn and sodas and as people entered they could pick up pennants or pompoms to wave.

Molly nodded. "I joined on a whim because my friend Buffy asked me, but I really do like it," she said. "I get to yell a lot and toss people around. Plus, the gymnastics stuff is helping me with fighting. I'm way more limber than I was when I started and knowing all the tumbling and stuff works really well."

Nico nodded slowly, a little impressed. "Okay, I was scared your answer was going to be about showing off your legs and then I'd have to take you back to L.A.," she said. "It's awesome you've found something that helps you train. Plus, the uniform might be a good costume."

Molly rolled her eyes. "If I ever get that shallow, you have my permission to use magic to lock me in my room until I see sense." She beamed a little under Nico's praise and then look thoughtfully down at her uniform again. "It would be another distraction," she muttered.

"I'm not sure I would even wait for your permission," Nico laughed. More serious, she added, "A cute brunette in a cheerleader uniform? It'd be almost as distracting when you came out swinging as it was when you were all little and wore pink."

Molly snorted. "If they're guys, the only distraction I need is just being a girl, period." She shook her head. "You'd think they would've learned by now."

"Bad guys are total chauvinists," Nico said simply. "Helps us out, anyhow, so it's better they don't clue in to girl power. Kind of irritating, but better."

Molly nodded then looked over her shoulder. "Oops. We're almost ready to start, I gotta get going."

"Understood," Nico said, waving Molly toward the gym floor. "Go, jump around, yell. I'll even cheer you on."

Molly smiled. "Thanks, Nico," she said and went to go lead the cheerleaders.
